btw... ppl that have parrots or other birds cannot cook with nonstick pans... it will kill the birds. A friend of mine didn't know this and it killed the parakeet she was babysitting.

1. Silicon rubber doesn't come from recycled plastic.
2. Silicon rubber is intrinsically resistent upto 200Β°C, so no additive is needed.
3. If you do not like black, silicon rubber cookware is available in other colours too.

That being said, wood and steel utensils are just better all around.
The bigger problem is microplastics are literally everywhere now: oceans, mountains, the air and your blood.

but yeah, sure, go ahead. throw out your plastic cookware and use a metal spatula on your non-stick pan instead. i'm sure that sprinkling of tephlon in your food will be healthier.
Studies have already shown that recycled black plastics are at most 0.001% retardant.
Are these chemicals harmful? Sure. In way higher dosages.
There are store bought citrus drinks that contain more of the brominated oil (the actual problem) than recycled spatulas.

Of the study in question, toxicologist Dr. Norb Kaminski said, "There is no discussion of whether any of the chemicals being detected are able to migrate out of the products being analyzed. If not, there is no risk because there is no exposure."
