The same could be said of Windows CE once upon a time. So many random things were built on it. Embedded stuff at least, I doubt many people tried to use it as a server.
Real, I've been using Linux as a daily driver desktop OS for years now, definitely far smoother than Windows will ever be. Also privacy features, incredible customization, just so much better, and with the right distro/desktop environment, even Granny Norma can use it no problems.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

If it wasn’t for RuneScape and Age of Empires I’d be on Linux full time. All the games i play are proton compatible or run natively and I don’t rely on any proprietary software for work.
Imma look back into this last time i tried it AOE was running at like 1 frame per minute, my processor is an old athlon APU but can still play other games with way better graphics than AOE. I figured it was the game
