Yup! Unless you pull a Karlie Kloss and where them just for a style statement, which is offensive to those with sensory issues that can’t wear contacts.
Yeah but it used to be sort of true. Only "nerds" wore glasses, so if you needed glasses but didn't want to be called a nerd and didn't care about being able to read the blackboard, you didn't wear glasses. That mostly apples to Boomers and some Gen X.
My Mom went nuts at those test results, but for what it's worth, she was a Christian Scientist, and I'd been unable to see the other side of the room since I was two.
People who read are more likely to have myopia and need glasses than those that don't read much. Therefore, glasses make you look like someone that reads and therefore, more likely to be smart.
I really fail a vision test without my glasses, but I I'm nowhere near how TV and movies portray people without their glasses. I can see big objects. I can't see details or read. 🤷🏻♀️

“I don’t know.”
“Congratulations! You look smart now.”
One time a woman said “don’t think you’re smart!” bc of my glasses.
“I don’t. I think I can’t see…?” was my response.
Oh no - only works for others.
