It wasn't that hard to teach my kids to swim. Some guys are just bashful , I think. This mom knows what to do though. She's probably had to do it before. God, what jobs mothers get stuck with ! Oy!
I'm sorry 😔. I was lucky and doggy paddled. My son is terrified of water. I tried to teach him and it was too stressful for him. He wears a life jacket and his brothers and sisters swim. It's different for everyone. Hugs.
That's the absolute worst outcome of the sink or swim technique. I'm glad for all those that got by and enjoy swimming but that must have been terrifying for you. 😳
I was 5 years old, screaming & pleading with him not to throw me in the pool. It was 8 feet deep. My dad said I bounce back up, but I didn’t. I was struggling deep down in the water. Almost drowned. Thought I was going to die. Very traumatic. I’m proof, not every child bounces back up.😥
So you would drown if on a boat that capsized. Humans don’t need to be that rough with their young as we are apex predators, but being able to evade by diving deep and swimming fast is protection for that pup.
Was 5 years old, screaming & pleading with him not to throw me in the pool. My dad said I would bounce back up, but I didn’t. I stayed on the pool floor, struggling & almost drowned. I rarely go on a boat. The few times I have — I’ve worn a life jacket—even if some people thought it was ridiculous.
That gave me a nice little backdrop wherever this is it’s probably a lot of them there and they knew exactly what to do when she brought them out of the water. It’s all amazing to me, but I saw what you saw lol.😂
These are one of few animals that has to be thought everything from their parents. If they are orphaned young they will never survive. If captured they must be thought survival skills and most time can’t be reintroduced into the wild.
Poor baby. Mom is not playing 🫶🏼
“I will drag you into the water by the neck if you dont come here on your own!”
“Sure, whatever. Wait I thought you were joking please don't do it-”
*splash*
Not really. The pup has instincts that kick into place, she’s making sure he can survive and escape from predators. Diving and swimming fast is their default defense.
I suddenly remember a time when swimming with your baby was popular. What a stupid idea that was. I still feel the idea was ludicrous.
But then, it looked exactly like this. They survived thanks to a built-in reflex that closes their windpipe when they go underwater.
I thought mom was taking great care in teaching the pup through how to come up for air and how to swim. She pulled the pup out of the water when the lesson was over.

Thank you. 👍❤️
Their absolutely unnecessary joy is ontological proof of the Divine.
I do have to say that this video is absolutely adorable. 🥰
But you have to be crazy at times in life to survive.
I love your grandma courage.
This thread is full of the stuff I want to be reading on the internet...
How 'traumatizing' was your learning-to-swim experience?
...instead we're all busy sharing on the daily how traumatized we are by the bumbling buffon and his Ketamine-controlled tech-bro.

But at the end of the lesson, a momma’s love is precious 🦦💙
Interesting watching

baby - 'nooooooooo'
mom - 'in you go'
i owe so much to tough love
She’s not messing around!
A little harsh there but very cute.
Poor little guy got dragged into the water, and then he didn’t want to be dragged out of the water!
Joy and laughter a bit each day helps!
Only joking LOL :)
