i'm so stoked for the murderbot show for a number of reasons but chief among them is that it's pretty rare that SFF written by not-men gets optioned and then actually adapted and filmed and released and i want to see this succeed so that there can be more

But I look at Severance and how brave and original it is and think a guy like Ben Stiller or Ana Lily Amirpour could pull it off on Apple.
Pretty promising tho.
Relatable tbh
But I also took Sanctuary Moon as leaning way more toward Days of Our Lives or Dallas than Sopranos or GoT.
I read affection on the part of the lead scientist. That made me think he presented as male - like a Ken doll.
I'm too attached to the very generically brown looking Murderbot in a lot of fanart.
Diana Gabaldon
Leigh Bardugo
Octavia Butler
Martha Wells
That can’t be all of them, can it??
Shadowhunters (I think there was a show and movie?)
Vampires/Witches stuff (Anne Rice, Deborah Harkness, etc etc
Also? Hunger Games!
I think the number of women-authored books being optioned is equal or greater than male-authored, but so many of them don’t get to production
Atwood, indeed
