Good luck!!! It has its ups and downs and there are some scenes to watch out for cuz yk it's the 90s but otherwise super funny, super fun to watch and was simultaneously very progressive for the time
You are in for a ride I binged all 7 seasons with my former roommate when she found out I hadn't seen it. One of the best shows to come out of the 90's
I loved the series. I know I'm not the demographic that they were going for,but I like the vampire genre and enjoyed the series very much.
The Vampire Diaries was also very good.
I'm so ridiculously excited for you. As someone who watched twice a year sometimes more, and still laugh and cry, I'm stoked for your fresh journey. WishI could watch again for the first time.
I need to rewatch this now that we know how much of a choad Joss Whedon and see if it hits different or if there were any clues. I'm guessing I am going to have more reason to hate the Xander character TBH, because I recall him portrayed as being quite the sex pest.
If you’re open to continuing, it really finds its feet around halfway through season 2. My husband thought it was just OK until the big villain of S2 emerged and then he absolutely loved it. Season 3 is the best overall IMO. My hot take is the show should have ended with the S5 finale.
It's good all the way through, but it has a few truly ground-breaking and tremendous episodes. "The Body" is one and "Once More With Feeling" is just one other.
It was an amazing achievement. Rather than just going on and on until it ran out of steam, each season was like a full, self-contained novel. Each season ended very far from where it began. This itself is quite unusual.
I want to show it to my 2 teenagers, but worry it might have dated...
I loved Buffy and got my husband hooked a few years ago. We binge watched it from start to finish. Forgot how much I liked it. It was campy and clever. I was in high school in the 80s and it takes place in the 90s so I could relate. Very nostalgic for me. Hope you enjoy it.
Be warned some of it aged like milk.. the rest is fantastic but there are definitely moments, especially given the history of what happened on set, that leaves you very unsettled.
Joss Whedon was a fucking creep.. Weinstein type shit. That's why so many of the relationships in the show are completely fucked up if you take a step back and look at them.

Never bettered!
One thing that weirds me out lately is that for me Alysson Hannigan is from American Pie, but for like everyone else she’s Willow.
The Vampire Diaries was also very good.
Enjoy!!
I was barely 2 years old when it first came out😩
And be prepared for some of the best TV ever made, and keep hankies nearby.
Some amazing episodes and of course some average ones.
It's very fun, but I have to remember sometimes that I am no longer the target demographic. 🤣
Also I despise Joss Whedon which makes his less appealing writing tropes a bit more noticeable.
