He has been wanting to destroy American Democracy for 40 years. He's doing a helluva job now. This is Putin and the American NAZI MAGA dream come true. His father taught him young to hate Democracy and when the American banks stopped lending him money because he never paid it back, that was the end.
Other things Americans need to expect: layoffs at ports, layoffs of long-haul truckers and warehouses, certain products no longer available at stores (of if they are they will be 2x more expensive), and generally higher inflation and unemployment with less job opportunities.
Yep I read empty shipping containers are coming to SF port from China which means less workers needed, less truck drivers & on down to retail. Trump is either too stupid or doesn’t think it will affect him
He told us it would be painful and for us to be strong (as he was golfing), so to him, this is no big deal. If there was one lonely loaf of bread left on the shelf of America, he'd still be telling us to hang in there 🙄
Look around any room and count the things less than 25yo made in or of Chinese manufacturing.
Paint, screws/nails/glued, plastics, light bulbs, chemicals, tools, pharmaceuticals, fabrics/clothes, foam interiors - don't forget if not Chinese, the machines/tools that made those!
It's an avalanche of incoming disaster.
Goods will start out expensive or unavailable - sure. Then when tools, fasteners/glues, and machinery used to make American equivalents run out, the ALTERNATIVES will turn out to be horribly expensive and there will be a broader seconds slower wave of price
inflation as people realise that screwdrivers, soldering irons, screws, paint, plastic, to create/repair their manufacturing equipment was ALSO Chinese and the equivalents either need creating from literal ore, or imported from ANOTHER country...and the reason they came from China will be obvious.
I find it interesting bc trumps “I’m the best” posts are lacking the usual confidence in guessing bc he is having to come to terms he is going down as the worst business man to exist after this latest stunt 😂
A self-imposed one. He thought the other countries would come cralwing to him for a deal. Right after he ripped up a trade deal he negotiated himself in his first term.
We can't trust him so for the next 4 years the US is a pariah. No trade and no tourism.
1/ They aren't 'loans'. They are bonds with a face value.
Japan has a $trillion. There's a list somewhere.
They aren't going to panic sell and collapse the value of the bonds they purchased. BUT, nobody will want to buy new bonds - massive increase in interest rates to encourage purchases
Wait until the fact that no one is showing up to vacation there from outside of the US starts to have an effect on the travel industry. And that laid off people can't usually afford to vacation.
I conducted a study of truck traffic congestion around major ports during the COVID-19 pandemic. I expect a similar or worse decrease in the number of trucks leaving ports.
The felon says prices are all down by huge %. But they aren’t. I’m easily paying 30-50% more for groceries . So the cult is too. But their god says it’s lower. So that’s what they say all while paying higher. Make that make sense. 🤷🏻♀️
The secret strategy was to basically make us all poor and desperate but we're already kind of there and he was gaming the stock market to make his friends richer but I don't think anybody's going to survive this maybe Jeff bezos.
Most Canadians won't buy anything from the US, that's what happens when you betray your closest trading partner and threaten to invade our country. Funny how that works out, eh.
Meidas Touch Network had a video about the affect $Trump's tariffs are having on the trucking industry, and how dire the situation is, but people aren't aware of it yet. The impact on small businesses will be catastrophic.
My spouse likes particular shirts for work and needs a couple of new ones. I went to order some yesterday and the only place with *ANY* was LL Bean & his size wasn't available in any colors he'd wear.
We've been buying 'em for decades. It's not that they're discontinued, just entirely out of stock.
That makes sense since the Port of LA normally handles more traffic than all of the rest of the west coast ports combined -- including the port of Vancouver, which is Canada's biggest.
It's astonishing that these same people,be they farmers, truckers,or union workers, still continue to vote for $Trump. he has obviously little to no respect for the jobs that these hard working people do.Yet, regardless they continue to vote for him, at the risk of their careers, livelihoods & farms.
Here is the Meidas Touch Network's video. It's really informative. I didn't even think about the trucking industry as it relates to $Trump's tariffs. It ain't good.

But exports didn't follow.
Now, West Coast ports are sending ships back empty.
This isn't economic reviva.
It's a retreat.

Look, Trump is a fucking moron. He doesn’t understand basic economics, but he’s fucking all of us with this macho bullshit of his. It’s gonna get BAD.
And none of this trade stuff has even mentioned the fact that vacationing is going to take a huge hit.

That's not good.
There's more ships between Kefalonia and mainland Greece than coming into the main US - China port.
That's very bad indeed.
Grain well to hell with #coal

Before he gives up after six months.

And your interest rates will be too.
You can see a very large ship to the right of the sun on the horizon.
Usually at least one ship somewhere in view, but this is based on memory and not data.
Since nobody else is reporting on this.
