Most of these people really didn't "leave" Xitter and frankly I do not even think they are capable of it. Elon and other right figures are all that exists. Worse still now this site and others ARE Twitter because they brought it with them. It was nice to have an alternative while it lasted though.

I understand abuse and yes, leaving those guys is literally leaving abusive relationships. They are abusive men so every relationship they have with others is abusive.
No one from Twitter is looking to hunt someone down, specifically to do physical harm.
After 15 years living in a horribly abusive marriage and trying desperately to figure out a way to leave and still be alive -- deactivating an account and deleting an app seems TOTALLY the same 🙄 It's sad.
I honestly don't feel it was a trite comparison, it came over as a valid point to me. Being in a position of being abused isn't always physical. Just my opinion but I felt there were some comparison with being in X, it's why I left it.
Once you start degrading words, for example the overuse of 'Nazi' which for some means a bit bossy rather than mass-murderer, you begin enabling evil. This may seem an overreaction but words & their true meaning is of vital import.

Happy and proud to report that I was perma-banned from Twitter 2 years ago, for allegedly suggesting that after TSHTF oligarchs in bunkers would/should be murdered in their sleep. Of course it was a joke!
100% this. That is exactly the case. And the attempted invalidation of our reaction to abuse (leaving the relationship) is part of said pattern of abuse.
What I find funny is that now suddenly twitter is a ‘abusive’. It is, but it wasn't before? Of course it was, but now you have to be exposed to a different kind of asshole and you're not the sole dominant group of assholes and now it's apparently bad.

We gave Twitter life. It was our playground. It died when Elon took over. He turned into a hellish evil place. It was hard to leave the people I met there, but it’s their choice to stay. I clicked deactivate, and deleted the app. It was easy because I didn’t know that place anymore.
Trump has already made America a country we don’t know anymore. All we can do is hope the people who are still good will fight for us and win. And we need to fight too. Locally and just everyday life. Don’t let them overcome.
