"Manipulating oneself into a position of power (IE, Control) does not automatically make you popular."
To rational minds, the above sentence is glaringly obvious, but those who seek the power of control over us are not exactly rational these days, are they?
Only a matter of time until he is being interviewed saying he is the most popular newly elected President ever...since Washington. No one will fact check him and all his cult followers will lap it up. Rinse and repeat.
“I am the most popular newly elected president you have ever seen. The world has never seen a more popular newly elected president. I can tell you the most popular and beautiful newly elected president is me. I can tell you that”.
The fact is Trump won. If this survey is representative, that means significant numbers of Americans voted for him despite thinking he will be a shit POTUS.
I'm not going through another "sympathy for idiots making stupid choices" phase, I ran out of those f*cks in 2015/16.
Organic material is ever present in the environment and you could use a copy of The Telegraph to remove it from your shoe. I'm sure the millions of SNAP/Medicaid recipients who lost their food and medicine until a Federal Judge stepped in wish it would be that easy to clean up bigger messes.
I doubt Trump or his paymasters care .. as I doubt they intend to allow future elections.
I also doubt his cult members care as they voted him back in for a second term. They had a simple 'Good Vs Evil' choice, and they chose Trump to stamp on their faces forever.
Well, journo Gregg Palast (who I think is fairly reliable) reckons that 3.5M voters, largely people of colour leaning heavily toward Harris, were disenfranchised by an orchestrated GOP voter suppression campaign. And you aren't notified if your vote wasn't counted, so they don't even know.
I've seen a couple of podcast interviews with Palast, the latest being on Kyle Kulinski's pod. But he's only recently got his hands on some of the data about how many ballots were disqualified county by county. Those stats are not published, although you'd think they should be.
I weep at the constant grovelling from our leadership…just nod smile and walk away…dealing with lunatics just leads to lunacy.
He won’t make full term, just bide your time
But because is bringing chaos by following some of us more Far right promises people will say : “ he is the guy he does why he said and said what it is”🥹🥹
Don’t forget idiot Brits voted for Boris and Brexit and ended up with Truss being beating by a lettuce. I’m sure there’s a lot of appalled Americans as there are Brits.
"It's not a blatantly dishonest, far-right propaganda rag, just look at this not-pro-Trump story it published... and I'm sure there'll be another one like it in a month or two."
In 2016 they said Trump won’t do what he said he’d do. First thing he did was borrow $trillion to fund a tax break. Tried but failed on other promises. 2025 Trump wrong do what he says. This time he learnt from last and got rid of those who stopped him. He said no more elections.
We can only save ourselves as a country. At this point, I do believe that we Americans as a population will have to be "backs against the wall" desperate. We don't know how to do that. But when challenged. We have a lot of heart and grit. School of hard knocks is called for
His polled unpopularity won't matter a bit to those with whom he remains popular though. He's the apotheosis of American pop culture and its inherently brutal bad manners, and that's all that matters to his legion of fans. They'll see his unpopularity only as further reason to love and support him.
For what it's worth, almost every single person from my past who supports this madman was either a meth head, a paint huffer, a cocaine addict, or a straight-up con artist.
The rest of them are God bothering gullible people who like being spoon-fed propaganda by oligarchs
The only president that comes close was Biden and he is a fair distance behind. But it doesn't actually matter as the majority of the electorate voted for him and now he's in power, whether people like him or not, is irrelevant
Trump didn't even get 50% of the popular vote. He doesn't have a mandate to do as he pleases.
The only thing less popular than him is the Project 2025 policy agenda that some ideologically dangerous and nihilistic far-right lunatics wrote for him-- and he's hellbent on implementing all of it.
Does make me wonder if the whole election was rigged given they have a supposed computer genius (or at least someone who employs them then steals their ideas) working with them….🤔
it matters not, he cares not, hes in now and MAGA will never leave office again. America has just had their Brexit, although its looking like it'll be a million times worse. They have freely voted for a fraudulent sex offender. I just hope Britain and the EU come closer because of it
On the assumption he doesn't drop dead of a heart attack or stroke before his term is up (he is, actuarily, living on borrowed time for an American), I'm sure he will have an attempt at trying to become 'President For Life'.
I think he is absolutely detestable and bad news for the world but he got 77 million people to vote for him. We need to understand why that happened,it's no use just saying they were all duped or are stupid. Untill we understand why, goons like trump, farage, johnson etc, will keep getting elected
He got 77 million votes, not necessarily 77 million voters, the worrying thing is he felt the 2021 election was stolen so was this a levelling of the playing field moment? If it was and he actually did lose the 2021 vote then unfortunately the US and the world has a huge problem to solve.
that's my point though, 77 million people can't surely all be dumb and racist. That's too easy a label to put on that many people. Yes some will be, probably a high number will fall into either category but not all of them. To beat the racists, we have to understand why the rest still voted for him.
He catered to the fears of people and used that as leverage. Immigration, inflation, foreign interventions… it would appeal to many. US media is terribly skewed and he took advantage.
I agree. Biden isn’t as addled as they make out. He certainly wasn’t the right choice. Had Harris been given more of a chance to make her campaign I would like to think the outcome would’ve been different.
Well yea, so I would've had it until Nick Ferrari's sustained PR campaign on trump's behalf. I'm sure he was saying much the same when I last listened to him 2 days ago.
Nick Ferrari is well known for his orange sympathies - and also well known for not liking reality or honesty. He isnt there for serious reporting, he is an entertainer who likes the sound of his own voice - a lot.
Americans who voted for him will soon be regretting their decision i simply hope the damage he potentially will cause isn't too bad but first week has been worrying.

Rig 2016 because people can believe Clinton didn't win.
Lose 2020 because people would get suspicious if Trump won after a disastrous term.
Win 2024 because people can believe Harris didn't win.
Trump *may* have been helped both times.
No sympathy at all.

How many UK ex pats may move back...?
Absolutely idiocy

People in more countries seem to vote for politics that are not good for them.
Chicken? Not me, I’m mostly vegetarian, though I make exceptions. *burp*
1). Utterly worthless and the mainstream media should hang it's head in shame
or
2). Completely accurate and something shady happened.
Either way that poll doesn't materially matter much now.

The stupidity of the human race is quite something.
Did the sarcasm come across in this reply? Social media sometimes doesn't pick up on it?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It used to be “Charles Philip Arthur George Mountbatten-Windsor”.

Um..
A). Everyone is woke?
OR
B). He’s building concentration camps?

Last time round it was a bit of a case of: "I know the democrats didn't win because I fixed it so that I did! DOH!"
A. Incredibly stupid.
B. Self-serving vile racists and bigots.
*what sarcasm??*
This country is nuts
