It’s not just the immiseration, but also the clear broadcasting that voting doesn’t work to change fundamental conditions because of SCOTUS (and other factors). Voting is what societies use to resolve conflicts without violence and it only works until people stop believing it works.

Now... once Trump is gone as the figurehead, maybe that changes. I'm not sure someone like Vance or DeSantis can inspire that level of cult following.
The question is whether we have a country in which change through the electoral process is even possible in four years.

And he is now president-elect after attempting to overturn the last election he lost. Terrifying times.
Hopefully things change but currently conservatives own most of the guns and are the vast majority of gun owners.
It's a more fraught perspective than guillotines and such but right-wing spaces were not mourning this guy
