Health insurance giants hit a jackpot after Obamacare: profits soared 230%, subsidies flooded in, and market monopolies bloomed. Consumers? Left with skyrocketing premiums while taxpayers bankroll this legalized cash grab. The ACA didn’t just insure people—it insured corporate greed.

But you’re right, there should not be any insurance companies that operate for profit
Health care as a for-profit operation is the problem. People shouldn't be able to make more money by allowing you to suffer.
I doubt mark is checking someone else's mentions
The reason we have the ACA is because that’s not how they operate.
Just do single payer HC
Itll create more Government jobs too. The struggle will be the need for more doctors and nurses
Slowly, either everyone is on national health insurance or comparable.
This was vital to the success of the ACA because the more who are insured the lower the costs for everyone.
Also dropped the requirements for large employers to offer health insurance to all employees. Read up on this
Which employers and companies took advantage of, and those individuals lost access to subsidised healthcare.
I'm in Australia, watching the US Public Health policy, and the reality of its impact and/or cost to people.
As AUS has our federal election this year, and I fear AU Medicare will be decimated by a conservative (LNP) (billionaires buddy funded) government if they were to get in.

Republicans swore that premiums to skyrocket if the ACA was passed.
When the ACA was passed, premiums skyrocketed, but so did profits, pretty much in perfect lockstep.
Disinformation gave the insurance companies the cover they needed to do this without blowback.
“Political uncertainty” plus “unfavorable risk pool shift” equals “intentional malfeasance and sabotage” apparently.

You think excessive insurance profits wouldn’t have happened without the ACA? Every year before the ACA, my employer provided insurance costs went up, benefits down, choices less.
So he probably does mean the stupid shit.
How about we work on Universal Healthcare? Medicare for all will not make it in this country. And pushing for extremes will not help those of us with pre-existing conditions and our protections that we need.
Look at the chart!
You know who ISN'T doing better? The wealthy - your news is filled with negative stories for a reason.
Hope you're proud.
Pre existing conditions prevented millions of Americans from getting healthcare. ACA forced that practice to end.
I hope you get every last thing you deserve, you fucking little Eichmann.
Just cut the middleman out and let doctors deal strictly with a fully funded medicare for all.
You can still have private health insurance in addition to coverage for all. This private insurance is used for specialists and the best of the best doctors.
If junk coverage diminished then premiums rose and people had actual coverage then yes, revenue went up.
WTF is going on ?
If more people are getting health care, then costs will increase.
If costs increase, then so will revenue even if profits are flat.
Look at the chart!

Healthcare should be about healthcare, not rent-seeking.
