Badenoch will have to define 'Brexit' first. Brexiters dumped its original meaning – British exit from EU membership – long ago, but have never put a new definition in its place.

"Brexit" - the systematic abandonment by the British governing bodies of the citizens esp. The vulnerable and ill. They have exited the social contract of mutual protection with the governed.
The political class and civil service have never accepted it happened..what we have is a brexit light being still tethered to a venal trade bloc masquerading as a pretend country
A cultist doesn't need a definition of their promised land. They simply believe it is wonderful (whatever they consider wonderful) and that they will reach it if they just keep believing .. and burn any heretics that their preacher tells them will stop them getting there ..
It will be interesting to see if Badenoch is subject to more challenge on this than we see offered to Farage. I suspect not - our journalists seem to like the ambiguity as it allows all these attacks against those looking to minimise the damage.
It’s not that simple for sure. Not by a long shot
But only when we get the majority of the country saying “we should rejoin” can we begin to address the obstacles before rejoining
I'm the meantime there are also a lot of folk pushing the false narrative that because there are hurdles to overcome we shouldn't even try to mention Brexit or rejoining as it's making life difficult for the current govt and their red lines will undoubtedly cost them a lot of votes in 29.
The whole post referendum tussle proved what a hopeless basis for a supposed generational direction that original meaning was.
The 1975 referendum yes/no referendum could arguably have just turned back the clock. Never a possibility for the 2016 referendum. Bloody idiots.
Give Badenoch her due: she is singularly gifted at making herself and her party unelectable without any necessary intervention from opposing parties or actors.
Really illustrates how empty the idea of "making Brexit work" is - none of them will ever concede that it is being made to work by their political opponents.
It only has one meaning to leave the E.U. and all its institutions as a member state. We left the EU.
It was Johnson Frost who negotiated which institutions would still be applicable.
And we should join again as soon as possible.
One of the biggest mistakes a political party has made for Britain.
That is why the EU will not change BREXIT.
They know at some time in the future there will be another anti-EU UK Government in power.
Any minor changes negotiated will be with water tight conditions with erroneous penalties for reneging on any agreement.
This might be a tipping point for the narrative on Brexit. If you ‘betray’ Brexit and the Nation benefits its a brave politician - and media cohort - that condemns it
Considering Brexit completely shafted the fishermen, I'm not sure what a 'Brexit betrayal of fishermen' today would look like.
Same true of freedom of movement, considering net migration has gone through the roof since Brexit and retirees have fewer location options. Same true of 'small boats'.
Rather amuses me about the farmers too, and how there are these videos of people in Lincolnshire voting Reform "for the farmers" (I think in relation to the inheritance tax thing).
Hard Brexit shafted 2 groups many than any other - fishermen, and farmers.
Let’s not forget that it was that clown Johnson who was responsible for the Brexit negotiations which ended up with such a disastrous deal.
I’m still looking for any benefits for 90% of us.
'We pledge to honour the Democratic Mandate of the Brexit Vote by launching our new plan for an even 'truer', harsher and more brutal brexit for everyone you don't like, that we are calling 'Project 2029' ....
As for the “small” boats increase, yes, Brexit has increased them, because of the additional checks & time it takes for HGV’s to get through, if Brexit hadn’t happened, then they would most likely becoming though undetected in the HGV’s.
It comes down to what you are comfortable with really.
True, however the Dublin agreement worked both ways, via that agreement, we actually received more refugees/immigrants than we sent back, so it’s really not a hill worth fighting or dying on.
Badenoch is such a fool.
1) She will never do anything because she’ll never be PM.
2) Brexit is shit. Everyone knows it’s shit. Betraying something shit is a good thing.
3) Brexit trashed the Tories. Trying to revive all its stupid battles just reminds us how tediously blinkered they’ve become.
I suspect Brexit might just take Labour out before it gets to Reformkip.
Labour have one shot at this and they're screwing it up with their red lines. If they don't get the UK a lot closer to the EU by 2029 they're basically opening the door to Reform who will promise the moon on a stick.
Also, Kemi Bad-Enoch is not a serious politician and is a disgrace as Leader of the Opposition.
Why does she have all those Special Advisors, when all her political talking points tend to be the latest outrages in the Culture Wars™️, by living her life permanently on-line? 😕
Originally many of them having suggested that membership of the Customs Union and Single Market should continue. But having won the referendum they lost their collective marbles.
This is pretty much why the EU would tell us to f**k off if we applied anyway. What's the point if Labour are out in four years and the moonhowlers just pull us out again?
Given the groundswell of public opinion has moved towards Brexit as an unmitigated disaster, I don’t see that stance as a vote winner. I hope she keeps that pledge alive in the public consciousness.
Does she @kemibadenochmp.bsky.social have an original idea
All she does is ‘leave this leave that’ reverse this reverse that’ good god the impeccable Tory members show their impeccable judgement once again
Brexit was supposed to "return" the UK to being an independent Great Power/Unitary Nation state. EU membership negated both, but so has Brexit. Multi-national EU client state, or break-up into member states are the offers. But everyone lives in their own lies about "GREAT BRITAIN", Leave and remain.

on the current trajectory, it's looking like a reform/farage UK Gov. the EU already have orban to deal with. They don't want another pro putin actor.
But only when we get the majority of the country saying “we should rejoin” can we begin to address the obstacles before rejoining
They're the only ones who get any media coverage.
Millions are voting for pro-EU parties and want to rejoin, but we get zero voice other than here.
The public knows Brexit is a disaster.

What bloody awful reporting.
There are no reported changes to freedom of movement. Nothing at all.
Journalists, do your bloody job!
"We will make your lives even worse for no reason other than spite" - can't wait to see that in the Tory manifesto.

Gotcha 😉 👍

Might it be an idea to first learn what is substantive about any reset, if anything.
