It's a very messy area, because there are absolutely people who were tricked, realized it & are genuinely repentant who should be welcomed. Being deceived is no sin. But they are few. one reason not to gloat *too much* is because we can’t know for a fact if these videos are real. in the weeks leading up to the election there seemed to be a lot of chaos in the Trump camp and it looked like they were panicking. now, maybe they were, but all the same i think we got too cocky.

I also think some people (especially on social media) have a much more intense and emotional relationship to their vote than gen pop. Not everyone who voted for the guy needs soothing and therapeutic validation, some people are persuaded by gentle ribbing and good-natured humor (like some gloating)
