If I had one wish... comic book companies would have little kiosks at movie theaters selling comic book stuff like this to people coming excitedly out of a film.
Just like they do in Japan...

Retailers, I can't impress this upon you enough:
SUPERMAN UNLIMITED #1 isn't just a good jumping on point for a new series...
It's a GREAT jumping on point for people who are excited about the new SUPERMAN movie...
...and who may not have read a Superman comic in years...
...or EVER!

But they could easily put a QR code on screen for people to scan that would take them to a site where they could buy (or be directed to a local source to buy).
And QR codes are a waste of time. No one is going to take their phone out and use that. The point is to sell them something at the exact moment.
Who is going to pay for the kiosks?
I think WBD and Disney see the movies and merchandise as much more profitable than selling comics. A QR code on screen during credits costs them virtually nothing.
They see the publishing side more as film/TV idea generator than a revenue center.
