Nah....he's actually purposely keeping older Hollywood hands employed, and hires homeless people to work in some fashion to get money to be less reliant on handouts.
My question is, do I have to have seen the first Happy Gilmore to follow the second? Or am I going to be totally lost, like if I watched The Two Towers without watching Fellowship of the Rings?
i mean adam sandler movies werent the epitome of intellectual comedy but they did have a good formula and had one of the better modern comedy film runs of my lifetime, let's give credit where its due. From Billy Madison to about ... idk Click, his full length movies were classics for the 90s kids
sheesh could your post be oozing more passive aggressivity ? I wasn't wagging my finger at you about it, i was making a reasonable point. No need for the theatrics about it ✌️Adam Sandler made a fuck ton of bad movies, Happy Gilmore was not one of them
😛 Alrighty I've got no reason to argue about it anyway, so whether you were or weren't, I'll respect it.
Billly Madison still remains a staple of references I make between friends, and even my parents who would get some references from that era of Adam Sandler movies
Yeah, but like it's going directly to Netflix. Remember all the straight to VHS/DVD sequels from over the decades that were better written and more respected than the original?
Not only does Mr. Sandler have a real "hole in one" artistic masterpiece here, he's going to make Era's Tour level money.
Even if you don't like golf, it's a great movie from 90s. Its bound to make someone laugh, probably more than once. There's a well known game show host in it and his part was probably the most memorable. It was Adam Sandler's better movie days like Billy Madison and Little Nicky.
😂😂 omg I totally memory holed the chewbacca hookup. My thought is it's a parallel to Lorelai. It's Logan's (Chris'), but Jess (Luke) will help raise them
Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison are 100% some of my favorite Adam Sandler movies. I may not see a need for it, but hey if it's as good or funny as the original I'll take it
All kidding aside, when I saw the original I was disappointed that Ben Stiller’s character never got his due for mistreating Happy’s grandmother in the retirement home.
Rd. 2 vs the alligator that ate chub's hand. Ben Stiller - the caretaker that abused Happy's mom - will now be in the Senate after defrauding medicare for billions.
Happy is appointed to the Senate in a heartwarming “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” style turn, only to immediately beat the shit out of Ben Stiller’s character, Preston Brooks-style, on his first day in Congress.
Yeah because we really do need that. I don't know how we could have continued without further delving into that film. Hell, I'm kind of wishing they will do some more hangover stuff., or fast and furious. Yeah that's it! I need more detail and follow up! 🙄🙄🙄
I really miss dumb 90 minutes comedies though. They've disappeared from theaters. Now they want me to sit for 4 hours and watch someone act out an existential crisis while blasting aliens. So fresh.

On a side note, researching this response led me to discover that The Price is Right is currently being directed by a man named Adam Sandler

Edit: I originally said escape from NY. Edit button needed.. lol
Holding hope it was the Chewbacca hook-up?
I would say that it's going to be the Duke Nukem Forever of cinema, but people were actually asking for that sequel.

This man abuses his beloved grandmother. No character has ever had an ass whooping coming more, that never got it.
As a child I knew this wasn't right, and really questioned why
