Speaking from experience. I was an ERP software developer for 20 years or so. I worked in many consultancies in the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore where the majority of developers were and are women, even in lead positions. I often wonder how white male supremacy can be so blinding.

Programming on its own is very life-balance and familiy friendly.
You can do it from almost everywhere.

You can be a dev, work part time, do your hours flexibly, work from home and therefore have flexibility around children and appointments and life.
