ps. I fix Macs for a living and that Tues. morning I sliced my finger opening one, never ever have in all the years. My mum is Irish, I knew a bad omen had arrived.
John, such a lovely intro to your latest podcast and I will read this later. I lost a dear friend two weeks ago and it’s the strongest grief I’ve felt since my Mom passed in 2012. Hang in there.
John, I have been listening to the talk show for almost 10 years and I never thought I’d ended up all chocked up.
Been going through something similar in the last six months the conversation with @hotdogsladies.bsky.social made my day today. Thanks for sharing.
Your last two posts have been some of your best, and I have been reading your stuff for years (decades?) you used to be my favorite commenter on all things Mac. Now you're my favorite commenter...on all things. Well done.
I might not always agree with your opinions, Mr Gruber. But I can share your feelings about parents and I do want to send a great hug for you from Spain.
I've been a DF reader pretty much since you launched it and have the original t-shirt. How it Went is the best piece of writing of yours I've read. Thank you. Best wishes and good health to your father.

Thank you for this!
Best thing I’ve read of yours! So glad I found you on my first day here.

Thank you, John.
Your dad sounds like the kind of guy everyone would chat with in the street.
I hope he gets back to the golf.
But I am grateful for your Mom's influence upon your life. And you are right. I would like your Dad.
And I am truly glad that he found his ring. Like your father, I've never taken my wedding ring off, in almost 30 years now.

Thanks for this, John. Sorry for your loss.
