Hey, fuck TurboTax and all that.

@samreich.bsky.social Release the 2.5 hour version!

If you say something negligently incorrect that will mislead everyone who reads it, and your response getting called out is "But I sure got a log of people talking about it, didn't I?" Then we should be able to reach through the internet and give you a swirly.

Tears For Fears, man.

If you're in congress and you aren't publicly in favor of banning the trading of individual stocks by people in congress, get your head out of your fucking ass.

The 4 step plan to fix the deficit won't work. 1. Extending tax cuts is a massive deficit increase. GDP growth won't offset it. 2. Interest rates can't go down w/o stable inflation. 3. DOGE isn't actually making any cuts. 4. Tarrifs won't raise enough revenues. youtu.be/5LQe_6GQfZk?...

What if we 1. Made taxes incredibly easy 2. Made tax day a federal holiday where you can spend up to $X tax-free on certain things so we can all celebrate and get a little something back? Or what if we earned a little interest on overpayments so we're not just getting a refund but also a reward?

We deserved some good news!

Hello Timeline * * I’ve been advised to mention that nothing you see here is more than a bootstrapped test. It’ll all change, specially the icons.

Pretty frequently wish I could text my dog.

So basically we have (A) a fascist party and (B) a party that doesn't want to make too much of a fuss about the fascist party.

“America is deeply unprofitable” it’s a country not a B2B startup you fucking dweeb

Idle thought: I wonder if Trump is mad about (the very small amounts of) fentanyl coming from Canada because he had to throw out some cocaine once.

@pocan.house.gov Thank you for signing this

"We won’t even know about the new deaths, because all the data collection was supported by U.S.A.I.D." It will be years before we understand the size of this crisis--and we may only understand it when highly resistant forms of TB come home to roost in rich countries.

When we lack control over the important things in life, it's tempting to exert outsized control over smaller things because it's easier than accepting our lack of control. When we're bullied, it's tempting to bully someone weaker because that's easier than standing up to our bully.

willem dafoe in movies he wasn’t in: thread

dems attending the joint address but shaking their heads the whole time so everyone knows they disagree

then we need new leaders

This is embarrassing. Trump and Musk are dismantling our country and targeting vulnerable people and the democrats are making t-shirts and organizing a bake sale about it.

This is fantastic. Huge high five to everyone who called your reps.

An underrated part of this video is you can watch the Dow go down in real time in the bottom right

Excellent read for $3 (and you can support a local book store) bookshop.org/p/books/i-m-...

It’s the only way. And not just some of them—every single Democrat needs to boycott it.

I think if you could stage a significantly large protest and actually achieve media coverage that cut between that and the half-empty chamber it would probably do some good. Also president crowd size would probably have a stroke

He's constantly a stoned college freshman going "But we can just <stupid thing that only sounds good if you don't know anything about it>!"

It's almost like wildly swinging infrastructure policy out of spite is a bad idea.

Gee I wonder why there’s a shortage of air traffic controllers

So - I've actually led Ebola outbreak response at USAID. This is bunk from Elon. They have laid off most of the experts, they're bankrupting most of the partner orgs, have withdrawn from WHO, and muzzled CDC. What's left is a fig-leaf effort to cover their asses politically.

Looking forward to having to test my flu and COVID shots for fentanyl before shooting up in an alleyway.

I'm sure some folks out there are tired of being reminded, but: If you're a Gen-Xer or elder Millennial, there's a non-zero chance your MMR vaccine has worn off. You may not be protected. Talk to your PCP about a titer test and re-up if you need to, cuz the raw milk moms are trying to kill us all.
