You'll never catch me with a pumpkin spice latte, but damn do I love decorative gourds. Everyone's a basic bitch about something. How does your B.B. manifest?

My seasonal cravings from Starbucks- pumpkin cream cheese muffin & then the cranberry bliss bar. They can keep the coffee (unless I’m on the road & it’s the only option). But I can’t drink their stuff other than nitro cold brew (I outgrew liquid calories) anymore.
Oooh tell me more. I'm a handspinner, and while I've given in to electric spinners, especially for spinning fine threads I am still obsessed by how ancient people figured out how to turn random types of fluff to fabric using the most basic of tools. I
My favourite hot chocolate is made by mixing cocoa powder with sugar then adding whipping cream to make a paste (taste to make sure of its deliciousness) then add boiling water and more cream to taste.😋
When I have a migraine hangover and have terrible nausea I go through the drive-in at Panera. I know I'll be able to find something bland that I can keep down.
I usually have expensive tastes but love me some cheap wine. That expensive crap tastes like paint thinner to me. I'm talking Boones Farm Sun Peak Peach cheap. Very B.B.
Best latte I ever had was ladled into my bowl at the Milan youth hostel. I used to like latte, now just like drip from my Zojirushi Zutto. I love gourds. Others worship the shoe. When the SS pushed Trump away... He yelled "my shoes, my shoes" Oh god my shoes. But I follow the gourd. 😎
About once every September I think to myself "ah yes, pumpkin, that's a fall thing. Maybe I should get a pumpkin spice latte now" and then it tastes bad and I remember why I only get it the one time each year
I've started adding things to my meal so the photos look good now - meal to brown? Add some pickled red onions, or fresh herbs or pink peppercorns s a garnish. It's fun and ends up making the meals more interesting.
Super comfy pants. I don't care if they look like a baboons ass, if they're soft and baggy they could have a crazy ex and credit card debt and I don't care
Handmade pasta. Can’t get more basic than flour and eggs. Oh the smell when you press it out, and that it gets firmer not softer when you boil it. Love those noodles.
I have about 3 or 4 of the same shirts/skirts/pants in different colors. I find an article of clothing I like, and it becomes my uniform for the season.
I wear flipflops basically at all times. Around the house? Flipflops. Out and about? Duh. Mowing and edging the lawn? You betcha. Parent teacher conferences? Absolutely. It's 41* f outside right now and rainy. Flip. Flops.
Fruitcake. Nobody I know likes the stuff, so every Christmas I have to buy my own if I want any. That's okay. I get to eat as much as I want and then freeze some. More for me.
Nope. I usually get whatever is being sold at the bakery in the grocery store. I know there is a monastery in Kentucky that makes a fruitcake so good that they quit taking orders months before Christmas. I tried making my own one time and it worse than my meatloaf which is also no bueno. 😊😝
I like to knit and crochet 🧶. I pine for silky yarn of natural fibers in saturated colors...
Sparkly stickers also catch my fancy if I happen to see them.
There is nothing basic about knitting with truly nice fibers. It's the ones who go buy every color of acrylic at hobby lobby (ugh) and make endless granny square blankets that are basic.
Signed - a complete fiber snob who spins and dyes her own yarns.
Same. I'll use acrylic worsted yarn to test out a technique that isn't making sense to me so I can see it bigger and figure out what's going on. Or to tie the hanks of handspun before washing. I won't judge someone who uses acrylic though - this stuff isn't cheap and I don't need to be
Gatekeeping knitting and crochet - everyone has the right to enjoy it. I used nothing but Walmart acrylic for years before I could afford nice yarns. It's the ones who insist their acrylic is BETTER than wool and silk and get snobby bout it that I judge.
Actually tried a PSL (from a local coffee shop, so no clue how Sbux tastes) a few weeks ago for the first time, and I gotta say... I loved it. Didn't think I would, I'm not one of those "pumpkin spice rules the world!" folks at all, it was good and I'd be happy to have another!
I can’t speak for them all but the place by me is clearly just putting real spices in, there’s a bit of residue at the bottom. It’s good! I’m sure the big places just use some sort of syrup though.
I'm highly amused at boba tea becoming basic because I've been drinking that stuff for 40+ years. The first time I saw it in a store in the US I was delighted to get it again after more than a decade. Now I'm horrified by some of the combos.
I think it's so funny too! Esp bc I think the trend is SO recent (but I ain't complaining!)
The first time I ever tried it was probably 15+ years ago bc my Chinese friend talked about liking it & getting it w/ her mom (they frequented more independent Asian shops/restaurants). (1/3)
I used to live in Philly, but not since 2008, and boba was definitely not. Common thing at the time. I grew up in Thailand where while it wasn't super common, it was common enough that I had it now and then. I think I really saw it starting to be come more easily available when I moved to California
Not in the tiny little town I lived in, were still 20 years behind the rest of the world. But when I would visit the Bay area closer to SF, there was often one near the Asian markets. I would shop for groceries I couldn't get at home, and get a drink - I stick to a basic milk tea and boba (until I
Discovered salted cheese topping, esp at the place that does a creme brulee salted cheese topper because OMG) The town I love in finally got a boba place and it just closed down last month because even at $8 per drink they couldn't make it because people here are scared of the weird drinks.
Back then, we could only get it from a SPECIFIC shop in a SPECIFIC mall in our area until we were in high school a couple years later & a boba/froyo shop opened in our neighborhood! By the time I was finishing up college, there were boba stores like in every town/city 😂

Now my challenge is finding places that have rose milk tea! I live in Philly now & know a few places that do it, but I def can't get it as often as I like 😄 My fave is a franchise called Tea Do that makes a delicious Sakura Rose milk tea, which I think is a great way to amplify the flavors 💛 (3/3)

Sprite Cranberry Spiced Winter Zero Sugar. So great for the two months it's available.
You will never catch me going to Starbucks tho....
(You didn’t)
(also what are these?)
Doesn't get much more basic for a White dude in Colorado with a beard, but here we are, and I do love them. 😂🍻
Don't mind me a gourd, but rarely see decorative ones.
Awesome!
Also I say "you betcha".
Enjoy!

I also wear a lot of plaid, it's practically part of my personality at this point lol
