My theory is that the "appeal" of Trump to many people is that he IS a famous con man, but every individual group thinks they are in on the con and all the other groups are the mark. So everyone thought Trump was lying about the thing they didn't want and truthful about the things they did want.

I do think the first term had a pretty high bluster-to-action ratio. It's easy to have the memory be lots of campaigning followed by, basically, cutting taxes for rich people. So the lesson of term 1 was, not unreasonably, that the regular GOP would reign him in.

But those people are gone.

RIGHT???? I've been watching the markets whistle past the graveyard for a few weeks...even when he SAID he was gonna do it this weekend, it wasn't until about 2 pm yesterday when he reiterated it, that the market reacted. I thought "Mr Market" is always ahead of the curve:) They're 'concerned':)
