It was kind of a shock to see a projector in the room and Mr. Bates explaining what we were about to watch. I can't recall exactly what precipitated the occasion though. Perhaps one of the most memorable moments of high school.

Wonderful. We did have a cinema club at school (dodgy projector and tatty screen but I loved it) but the films were all family friendly. Happy days.

The strong religious overtones here show that Dracula isn’t “just” a vampire, he’s a thing of pure evil. I love the larger part for Michael Ripper, too. Any Hammer flick with Ripper is automatically 10% better.

It really is very good. Out of Bray by then and for me, it does have a very different feel. For the better? In my opinion not really. But it is a strong Hammer film nonetheless. Also, Lee is particularly dominant in the film.

One thing I do find interesting is that the film takes a trope that normally might be comical--a character getting locked out of their home--and puts a horror spin on it.

I’m a sucker for all of the Hammer Dracula films - even 1972 and Satanic Rites. Prince of Darkness and Horror Of Dracula are tied for my fav. I think this one is my second favorite. Great movie.

This is one of my favorites, this feels in line with the first three films, now while I enjoy the films that came after this, they started to feel more separated from the earlier films.

Whereas this one feels right at home with Horror(Dracula), Brides, and Prince of Darkness.

How lucky you are .. I discovered Hammer films, Lee films much later in my life .. I was always a horror fan but didn’t know much about Lee’s Dracula until i subscribed to Hollywood suite channel and discovered classic horror films Lee, Price and so on .. now I am catching up!
