This really is unusual. This is not the dynamic of old. In 2018, Democrats made gains IN SPITE OF Trump's economic approval, not because of it. Now, Americans seem more angry with the economic state of things than they are with everything else.

The version most gracious to Americans is that they simply do not see it. Everyone is trapped in their information silos. To the extent they learn of it, it is through a twisted lens of propaganda.

But tariffs are one of the few things that can go busting through those like the Kool Aid man.

I’ve seen it pointed out that methodological polling changes made since 20 mean that the real gap between overall Trump approval from 17, and from 25, should be seen as smaller by 2-3 points (i.e. it’s a really small 1-2 points gap) - what’s your view on this?
