I had wondered if you witnessed a differential effect between them. I cannot say that I do. I am just partial to TM as I had a friend who worked for them and I visited their plant once in Sebastopol, CA. Stay well.
Yogi teas are brilliant, with something for every condition conceivable. Not gonna lie, I often smoke and then convince myself the Breathe Easy tea afterward makes it alright.
learned from a comment here! would never have guessed. this is the only thing that helps me with throat symptoms so far so hoping to find some good alternative 😟
Back when I was doing vocals, this was my go to. I still drink it when I’m sick or have a scratchy throat. Hell, I drink sometimes even when my throat feels fine. A little honey adds a nice smoothness to it.
Yogi teas are hard for me .. they all have an after effect slime type thing going on.
I've been making my own tea bags lately. Personal concoctions are nice.
It’s a CIA operation, and home to Angelton’s two daughters, and given a crony security contract by USG, over military bases. CIA and cults go hand in hand!
I love freshly cut ginger in my tea when I’m sick, with some real honey. Camomile tea is anti inflammatory and extra soothing. If you want to cool down add peppermint instead of ginger.
so the blend is herbs that are all widely available so you could just make up a jarand shake it before you put a spoonful in a strainer: Liquorice (32%), fennel (23%), cinnamon, orange peel (8%), ginger (4%), thyme (4%), mullein, orange Oil, lemon Oil, cardamom, black pepper, cloves, turmeric
it's the liquorice that's really throat soothing (it's a demulcent) and the fennel makes it not too sweet (and relaxes the bronchial muscles); mullein is soothing and expectorant and you can get it from neal's yard, so just those three would be an easy mix
also, in the US, Celestial Seasonings tea has a similar cult story..
Clipper tea in the UK is the one I willingly spend money shipping to the states. Pukka does nice teas too but they all tend to contain liquorice root (if that taste bothers you).
Amazon has that one but it's quite a different blend - liquorice and fennel and cinnamon and orange peel are still in there but it adds slippery elm bark, marshmallow root and cherry bark and something proprietary they don't name so unless it's just the liquorice might not have the same effect
I've used Traditional Medicinals Organic Throat Coat plenty, but it is imported and pricey...interested to find an alternative too. Failing that good ole licorice tea 🤷♀️
Do you have any local tea houses or loose leaf tea spots near you?
I find loose leaf tea at the Farmers Market and just kinda mix them to make copy cats lol.
I prefer Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat. I have a friend who grew up in that Yogi Bahjan cult and I don’t like giving them money on principle. They’re so creepy.
It may be a disgusting cult but they sure know how to make some tasty teas. Look up Yogi Bhajjan scandal or 3HO cult info for fun reading. TW: lots of rape and fraud. But yeah their biggest competitor is also a cult (Celestial Seasonings cult. Google it.) Anyway both cults make a killer tea.
Comments
I think I may need help.
I swore it was Throat Coat at one point.

It's cruelty-free vegan tea.
What is the * mean!?

You could also add mint in small amounts or eucalyptus tea, both help you breathe easier.

Though in Ireland we have a traditional remedy in the form of hot whiskey and lemon 🥃

Or boil spices like coriander seeds, cumin, carom seeds and drink
Buy the raw ingredients, and whiskey if needed.

I am feeling AWESOME! AND I AM AWAKE!!!
*May not soothe the throat.'
