Evening all. I'm drinking a wintry G&T tonight, damson soda for vibrancy in these dark days. Supper is mostly warm cheese. How's your cold winter treating you? #ConfinedCocktails

I have limoncello & tonic with a dash of Angostura bitters (as recommended on the limoncello bottle). All ingredients courtesy of favourite sibling & sibling-in-law. Cheers! #ConfinedCocktails
We're trying to clear the perishables before an unplanned (and unwanted) trip to the US sparked by Bad News. But the small silver lining is this: the Curator discovered the Blood and Sand when looking up cocktails with orange juice: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_and_Sand_%28cocktail%29
Evening all. I am in charge of other people's young children tonight, so I'm staying dry just in case. We did try this classic aperitif Martini in our new glasses yesterday #ConfinedCocktails
I’m on the last of our trains home after a trip to Oxfordshire to see a friend. There’s non-wintry fizz in the fridge (for belated birthday reasons) for when we get in, to be drunk from under a blanket on the sofa #ConfinedCocktails
#ConfinedCocktails blueberry lime Martini, winter soup on the way (green and black cabbage, potatoes, beans) and cabbage roll in the oven. Its cabbage season in dad’s garden. Cheers!
Cheers! In-person #ConfinedCocktails with a Côte du Rhone rosé. Jolly chilly day but profitable rambling around a southern cathedral city that promises much interest for the coming week. Self-catering slightly compromised by the main oven not working 😱 thank goodness for the top oven for now!
Cheers! It’s not been the best of weeks, but we got through it. I have a Polaris (muddled cucumber, gin, manzanilla, Aperol), which is good. Cooking interesting but slightly complicated parsnips to go alongside a venison burger for dinner #ConfinedCocktails
These are the complicated parsnips- they are delicious, and worth the faff (you have to poach them before coating in breadcrumbs and frying) #ConfinedCocktails
Horrible weather here. Had to drive to Dad's in freezing fog. I'm listening to our FA Cup match on local radio and am without a #ConfinedCocktails. Should I convert M into a butler and demand one? 1-0 up, mind!
I think something social media has taught me, in spades, is that not inheriting a deep affiliation to a sports team is a huge emotional gift. So many of you in so much pain on such a regular basis. (Sorry to hear it, though. Hope the butler is supportive.)
Coincidentally my brother has just forwarded this: 36 minutes in is the story of Jimmy Hill and the Sky Blue Song. It captures some of what it means. My voice is in there. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0026sjq?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile When you're yelling as loudly as you can but can't hear your own voice. Pure magic.
The butler was being annoyingly confident. Penalty shootouts are still a tense topic after the FA Cup semi debacle last year when our teams played each other in a controversial daylight robbery scenario.
