I genuinely don't get why this keeps happening. Does it happen just all the time and the cases are so obvious it never comes up ( like the judge takes one look, yeah you filled the form, case is done, next) so they think putting it in use with tricky ones should also be fine?

In this case, if I understand it correctly, it may have been done by MyPillow's in-house counsel. This is a lawyer probably acting outside their normal area of expertise, so looking for help in all the wrong places.

Then again, if I remember right in one of the past examples you posted about, one of the fake cases cited changed drastically in detail from paragraph to paragraph, being described an injury lawsuit by a guy before turning into a wrongful death lawsuit by the now dead guy's surviving family-

The problem with that is attorneys are answerable to a disciplinary body (in fact, several in some states). And attorneys have (1) ethical obligations to their clients, (2) ethical obligations as officers of the court, and (3) ethical obligations to their profession (i.e. the Bar) as a whole. 1/

As a footnote to what I wrote, explaining what I meant by "several": I don't know how it works in California, but in some states (e.g. NC), a Superior Court judge doesn't even have to refer you to the state bar for discipline: they can directly suspend your license for professional misconduct.

There's this thing called professional ethics, where you are required to do the best you can for your client, as long as they are your client, regardless of how big an a**h**e they are. And you can lose your license for not doing it as much as for lying to the court. (just get the money up front).
