God I hate airports
The flying part of getting somewhere is tolerable but AIRPORTS
The noise, the lineups, the security theatre, the "random extra screening" (that's three times in a row now!!), the sitting at the gate, the $17.25 for a sandwich and water...

And big real wooden rocking chairs to sit in.
Idk please pay for my 14 dollar sandwich if you are going to do this lady.
Security is BORED so they will do absolutely everything to you and your belongings.
There is NOTHING in the terminals.
Whole thing is a dead zone.
How long, given this curve, before they simply beat me on arrival, steal my stuff and throw me into the garbage.
It seems, eventually, inevitable.
I’ve only connected through Toronto City on Porter, seemed fine aside from the disorientation from the European lounge paradigm.
So to answer your question, no.
"Would you like to wait 26 minutes for one of the 4 available bathroom stalls for 1500 people?"
PUT BOSTON ON YOUR FAAAACEEE.
I was cool with it.
I started carrying a cane to go through airports. Something to lean on when I seize, and guards slightly more empathetic.
Stations > airports
Source: painful personal experience.
It's possible to get from Edinburgh to Berlin in a day by train (Deutschebahn permitting) and weather won't dump an ICE train in Switzerland!
LA - SF takes 12 hours, with a bus ride in the middle. To commute from home to San Jose (head office) would take me six hours. Sigh.
Would still be better than flying, though.
What part of being here is better than being in my nice warm bed
(Getting paid to do a talk I guess but I COULD HAVE DONE IT VIRTUALLY)
This isn't one of those tiny little planes is it
Like "Four people can fit in this plane, three if there's luggage"
Never again!
*the automobile lobby
And thought well people catching mules might be between off? I'm not sure.
they're thinking of europe or the UK. whole different train world over there.
I’d like to pretend it is some ethical choice (it should be) but the reality is the appalling design of airports and the awful way passengers are treated, and treat each other, is why I now don’t fly.
...though I imagine my case is even worse because it's in AUD 💀
(I haven't been inside an airport for 24 years --emergency situation back in 2000, or it would be a lot longer-- and things are even worse now, from everything I hear.)
