Anyone who thinks that we should replace him instead of doing the work to make him more popular does not understand that the other side will immediately do all the same work to make the person we replaced him with just as unpopular.

And any chance of winning against Trump sailed with it. Buckle up - the Democrats poor choices is leading us straight into a new era of lowkey-fascism.
I cannot speak for whatever you think a "progressive" is. That seems like a bias you need to work out on your own. I can tell you that I do not believe we are currently in a fascist society and I don't even believe Trump will implement fascism on day one. But a second term will for sure be the start
I think it is too late at this point to try and replace him. I like Gavin Newsom, smart, younger, charismatic but maybe for 2028. I think it is far too late to try and replace at this point.
Great point. Sustained attacks from the right-wing media-sphere have consequences for generalized questions concerning popularity. But don't necessarily translate to voting decisions.
President Biden over-performed AGAIN in South Carolina.
They preemptively wallpapered for Kamala Harris, the moment there was a suggestion that he might only serve one term. The moderate liberal with a legal background, is both a cop and a communist, I'm not exactly sure how, but conservative's logic rejects gravity.
Donating a fuckton of money to candidates, and telling every single person badmouthing Biden and declaring a lack of support for him to consider the impact of their words, and begging them to be less imbecilic about their political influence.
Very sad. This quote, "begging them to be less imbecilic about their political influence," is why these Dems will lose. They seem to think that they are better than everyone else.
Fun fact: you can't scold people into voting for the most unlikable candidate in 89 years. It's not going to happen.
And those on the left who are enamored with “someone else” will suddenly find “someone else” to bel less popular once that person actually exists and has policies and ideas and human flaws
Hey, I supported Warren when she ran, and I still like her, but my full support goes to the nominee who will stop the Republican and especially to the nominee who will stop Trump, because I'm an adult with an understanding of consequences.
Irrelevant. The point of someone else is that they will not be the historically most unpopular President in the history of the United States. Any move away from absolute rock bottom is a good move.
Younger folks can choose to look down their noses at voters who choose the least bad major candidate in the Presidential election; but, unless the math shows you have at least a 50% chance of winning you’re throwing away your vote on that “best” candidate.
Not stupid. Far from it. I’m only feeling hopeful about the future precisely because of the people under 30. But experience shows what happens when the vote is split over a single issue: you end up losing more on the issue you care about most
I read that younger voters are deciding not to vote for Biden because of the Israeli genocide in Gaza. That is a moral response and reasonable but I have to ask what would Trump do? After all, DT moved the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, an unnecessarily provocative action.
Young people often fail to understand concepts like identity. Two different sovereign nations are involved, one of which is killing people indiscriminately in Gaza and the other is the one Biden runs. Similarly, my one-year-old grandson thinks his aunt and his father are the same person.
Voters disgusted with the help Biden is giving the Israeli genocide will not be Trump voters. They will instead act in accordance with the majority of Americans and not vote.
That’s why I hope that Whitmer/Buttigieg/Klobuchar have been sitting back waiting for Biden to say, “you know what? I bow out.” Then they can come forward before the hate machine kicks in.
I still remember the drastic change in reporting about Al Gore before and after he became the Democratic candidate, because the so-called news media always, ALWAYS goes along with the Other Side's smear campaign.
Sure but that's not going to change the outcome of Biden's popularity. He is the least popular incumbent in 89 years. This means he is more unpopular than Trump was this time in 2020. That is a huge insurmountable red flag and running Biden with those numbers is political suicide.
Hillary's popularity waxed & waned depending on whether or not she was seeking power, which is a thing people don't like seeing women do. People hated her when she was running for office, but liked her when she was doing her job.
She was at her most popular when Bill humiliated her.

what exactly have you been doing for the past 3+ years?
Fun fact: you can't scold people into voting for the most unlikable candidate in 89 years. It's not going to happen.
You are so smart!

They did the same to John Kerry.
