Sorry to come over all Tom Forth but it's definitely illustrative of SOMETHING that the BBC managed to produce an article about the possible closure of the main road between two core cities without feeling the need to mention the impact on either of those cities or the people who live there.

Also odd that the article didn't say it's the A57 [exc. for a sign in a pic], which might've highlighted that 'it's very pretty, but perhaps it could be a cycle track!' was missing the point…

but certainly the impression I got from reading the article was it was some tourist trail, not an important intercity link
