The rollback of DEI is really wild to me. All these bigs orgs put so much energy into this stuff and now they're just folding instantly without the slightest resistance. It just shows that it was all fake. It wasn't a reflection of values at all if they just retreat immediately.

The far right won the cultural war, and they're adapting because they think it's gonna make them more of the ONLY thing they care about.
Not a single one of these corporations introduced DEI because they believed in it.
It was not organic and pushed the back of the throat of incs.
99.99% of the times when your forced things to happen the push back will be as strong or stronger .
I applaud businesses that stick by it now because doing so comes at personal risk.
But we should never have settled for equity and equality being negotiated by the whims of corps. Easy come, easy go.
We rested too long on a SCOTUS decision that everyone knew could be wisked away.
Trump gets in office and starts barking about DEI and Target folds like a cheap suit.
I should buy more rotisserie chickens to celebrate
Why do you think we had the EEOC or any other investigative and prosecutorial agencies to make sure they were complying?
For the majority of companies, this is their guiding principle and any other changes which might seem progressive are only there because it's financially rewarding.
They only ever cared about money. When you see a cereal commercial featuring POC it's because some asshole showed some other assholes a spreadsheet that identified a growth opportunity potentially unlockable with marketing.
Dollars, never any goddamn sense.
They did it for the sake of the bottom line, and they retreated for the sake of the bottom line.
Like, they must be really scared to risk loosing sales 🎯 just to comply with the government whims
