Not all of my Instagram archive uploaded to Pixel Social. It seemed to stall halfway.

It seems that they've removed the option. I guess their servers were overloaded.

I'm going to try the Pixey Org instance as an alternative, but you need at least one follower to enable import.

I stopped using instagram a while ago and started just using it to check out links sent to me. Jazzed up to import my history and dip my toes back into posting poorly taken pictures. :)

Now I’m a bit confused because I signed up, realized I could follow my masto profile but then when I tried to log in AS that profile it created a new one for me which didn’t seem to share between the two. But if I post a pic on masto, that does still show up on my OG one. I’m sure I’ll figure it out

I think I’m starting to get it. I’ve been trained so well by the corporate social media that decentralized stuff is so new. I can just follow Pixelfed accounts from Masto and they’ll see my pics there and vice versa.

100%. The fediverse has *problems*, but it would be possible to address them, especially if there are lots and lots of forks, and I honestly don't think corporate social media *can* be ever be reformed, including the site we're on. We're already seeing the cracks form.

The app for Apple has to be re-uploaded because of the traffic that the main server that it directed to has been getting, but you should be able to access via browser
