He was not that big in the 21st century. But even then, he wouldn't have been considered bigger than Michael Jackson who also did in this century. Please!!
I was thinking Prince as being more influential than Beyonce ... I just wonder about her as the choice. I could even say Michael Jackson could be up there.
Just think it's a curious choice. Above all in the whole "century" thing lol
The century thing is the biggest marker. Neither Michael nor Prince were bigger or more influential than beyonce from 2000 til 2024 yall hate for her as you delusional lol if we more talking the 21st century there is truly no other choice
She has been around for a minute…BUT Michael Jackson transformed music! First black artist on MTV, best selling album, best video ever (thriller) etc….
Beyonce will give writing and producing credits to everyone if a song samples another one. Secondly,
Bohemian Rhapsody was produced by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, Roger Taylor, and Roy Baker. You have lowered your standards of doing your own research.
Yeah she has good production, but she wasn't hyped this much when she was in Destiny's Child. She was just a regular artist back then. Standards for music have definitely changed, but lists like this are meaningless. It's all just marketing.
Greatest “pop star”? Not greatest pop singer? Or greatest pop musician? Or greatest pop performer? It’s possible she’s most famous for being the most famous.
Beyoncé is 43. An even greater superstar who will turn 43 before the end of the 21st century could be a child now or could be born any time in the next 42 years.
I'm a little surprised it's not Taylor Swift. I mean obviously her tours are selling out night after night for multiple nights in a row, she's had 12 number one hits just like beyoncé, but has had 263 charting songs to beyoncé 79. Not to mention her rabid fan base.
Beyonce has been that girl since the last century. The hold single ladies had on the country was unreal. She's been that star since I was in middle school, I'm 38 now.
I'm not saying that Beyoncé is undeserving of the award. But it also did say the 21st century which is the current one that we're in. She didn't actually become famous as a solo artist until 2003 so, based on the question that's all we really can go with.
To be fair Beyonce has had influence and fame notably longer than Taylor Swift, and even when Taylor was famous she wasn't THE popstar for a while whereas Beyonce has pretty much been at least top ten in popularity since the beginning of the century.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying beyoncé 's. Undeserving of the award. I'm just saying I surprised it wasn't Taylor Swift. She's seemingly wins everything anyway.
And, her first popular single as a solo artist was in 2003. Taylor Swift was in 2008. That's still the 21st century and 2008 was still over 16 years ago. Also, as I stated, I'm not saying that Beyoncé isn't deserving of the number one spot. Just saying I'm surprised it wasn't Taylor Swift.
