"The handwritten manifesto found on the person of the man detained in Altoona criticized health care companies for putting profits above care, according to a senior law enforcement official."

Sounds more and more like they have the right guy in custody. Now, if they could find the people responsible for stabbing the two people who didn't speak English....
Police have been preventing people from getting a fair trial for DECADES by straight up murdering them. There were mass protests about it all summer long in 2020!
Yeah to my understanding, per the constitution everyone has the right to a fair trial. Sometimes prosecutors offer plea deals (so like less time if u plea guilty) and bc trials are so unpredictable ppl say yes, but idk lol doubt he’ll take a deal😅 esp w the publics reaction to this whole thing
You’re right he can take it to trial if he chooses. He would be facing life in prison so you never know what he might do if presented with the opportunity to not spend the rest of his life in prison. It’ll be fascinating to see what he does.
Yeah its going to be an interesting time for sure. Not just the jury selection but if this guy does choose a trial, like can you imagine the opening statements from both defense & prosecution? Esp now considering we 100% know his motive now
I don't think it's him. How stupid do you have to be to be carrying around the murder weapon, fake IDs, and a manifesto 5 days after you committed the crime of the century while you're hiding out 275 miles away from it? This whole thing stinks to high heaven.
He carried stuff that linked him to a murder 5 days after the fact? 🤔 he either wanted to be caught or the police is framing some white dude cause the shooter embarrassed them
Feels sus. Why have all this on you days afterwards and go to a public place like McDonalds unless wanting to be caught. But then why run in the first place?
you’re telling me the same guy who was able to get away with murdering in broad daylight and evading police was chilling at a local McDonalds, with multiple fake IDS, a 3 page manifesto, carrying around all his evidence??
Lololololol does the NYPD really think we’re that stupid?
Man that voir dire is going to be interesting! This cannot be politicized as easily as other issues do bc EVERYONE who isn’t super rich has prob had negative experiences w/ our healthcare system. I wonder if they’ll allow the trial to be publicly covered
Ya, hard to think someone got a fake ID, traveled to another state before traveling to NY, studiously covered their face with a mask, used a bike to escape, left NY, and then decided to get caught in Altoona without immediately admitting he was the shooter.
I'm sure somewhere in the intervening 275 miles between biking away from the scene of the crime, the suspect would have thought to dispose of critical evidence.
A claim doesn't even have to be denied, they can slow-walk them or pay pennies on the dollar reimbursement or claim it all part of the insured's deductible. And this is not just a problem with healthcare but car/product warranties.
There is no question that insurance companies put profits over/doctor patient care but murdering a CEO won't change anything it will b business as usual
He also wanted to kill oil executives and others. This kind of rationalization lends itself to demonizing more groups and people.
Yesterday I saw justifications for the murder of major investors. Democrats are mostly cheering him on. This moral decay is one of the reasons you were rejected
I totally believe that the NYPD, which previously had zero leads or information at all, found the shooter with all of his kit still on *five days after the crime* at a random McDonalds. They totally didn't plant evidence on some random white dude and call it a day.
thing is, the propagation energy of the photos of the suspect is not delimited at all (pic~hostel desk or counter). So if they planted evidence and have a cut-out suspect, it will fall apart rather quickly when we (people) get a photo of suspect Luigi Mangione and begin to analyze. have faith.
there tends to be a simpler explanation... "he was hungry" (he was detained in a McDonalds) "a manifesto was recovered" (laptop/tablet necessary to have on his person (if only via cloud, public wifi, it still would have a cached or local copy)). "he had the weapon" (The end is nigh, chaos governs)
They obviously had leads. There is a reason they don’t tell the public immediately because if someone knows their identity is known they will be less likely to stop at McDonald’s.
lol, fair. Its a gas station that was started in Pennsylvania and has made to order fast food like McDonalds but is decidedly much better than McDonalds. I didn't grow up with it, but my husband did and its the one big thing he misses from home.
So if this is really the guy was he seeking to be caught🤔 Someone who planned out a murder in the way it went down surely wouldn't be found so easily with a manifesto & gun on him. So we're expected to believe he walked around for 5 days with this evidence hoping to get caught?
Exactly, especially when the bag they found related to him had Monopoly money in it.
It ain't adding up right to me that he just conveniently had the manifesto on him. Either that or the police force is a complete joke because they probably could have gotten him days ago.

“Have you or your family ever had a claim denied by UnitedHealthcare” . .
I think this guy is going to want his say on the stand. Just a feeling.
*waits*
it's like Beatlejuice. Just gotta say it 3 times.
Hope it was worth 3 months of rent, Karen. 😒 I'd rather have the snitch doxxed than the shooter.
Whoever their patsy ends up being, I feel bad for them
Lololololol does the NYPD really think we’re that stupid?
Let that white boy go he's not our savior he's an innocent civilian
and a worker collects 50K by recognizing and turning him in.

"another man" should be "other men women and children"
This isn't some random murder, dude was trying to make a statement
*opens binder*
"OK, let me see here"

Proof, if you needed any, that one class in particular actually controls power in this country. And they protect that power VERY fiercely
This sounds very much like that
Carrying around a manifesto.... and the gun????? At a McDonald's?? Sucks to be the random who fit the description I guess
Seriously. Fuck that dude.
boomers ruin everything 😭
