Seem so ironic that Bezos wants the editorials to focus on free markets and personal liberties, while tariffs have gone up and people are being snatched off the strand denied due process. If only he and the oligarchs didn’t support Trump.
Fear, misunderstanding, and discomfort have fueled the backlash. But what if, instead of arguing, we listened? What if we asked, "How can we move forward together?"
His columns and live chats were on my weekly reading list back when I was a subscriber. I’m glad that he’s choosing integrity over Bezos and his bootlicking.
Mr. Robinson, thank you for the 45 years you gave. It hasn't been an easy year for you, but you will sleep better at night with this decision and so many other opportunities will present themselves for you to continue to share your incredible your insight with all of us.
He’s been a steady force…which is why he feels the need to leave. I get it, and canceled WAPO a few months ago. It’s so tragic that a legacy newspaper has lost its way.
Guys there's only one way to stop this shit and it's us (American people)! Our Fathers and Grandparents fought, now it's our turn. This is a peaceful protest, we need 3.5 %. For God sake!, Be an American! SHOW the FUCK UP!! No one is coming to save us!!!!!
Eugene really is a nice guy. I met him several times. Such a shame for him to invested so many years into an organization and then watch Bezos tear it apart.
Another man of integrity leaving due to Legacy media becoming the complicit rag opposite to their mandate of journalistic integrity.
Lets hope he goes somewhere as we need our Fourth Estate to wake the f*ck back up and keep our democracy strong by calling out all the bs and not just transcribe it
Eugene is just another Corporate Capitalist Blowhard, I am glad he is gone, they should shut down WAPO anyway, it is all just political propaganda at this point anyway. #CorporateMedia
Another journalist with a backbone! I’m sure we will hear more from Eugene Robinson on MSNBC And, I hope, we will see independent columns, written by him in other genres.
Regretfully cancelled my subscription about a month ago after Bezos' ridiculous diktat about editorial pages and I still miss it. This is confirmation I made the right decision, though.
A decade ago, or so, I was one of the people cheering on Bezos for keeping print media alive (even if I despise him as a person, a stopped clock and all that) but now I hope the paper dies as James Dean not Marlon Brando.
Robinson's integrity is worth more than Bezo's financial ability to change things. Some people still care about ethics, truth and this nation's history
This is a huge loss for the Post, but a huge gain for someone else. He seems like such a person of integrity, my guess is that he had loyalty to the Post based on his career there, but it's now too much. Sad that it comes to this.
That is the last straw. Eugene Robinson was the only reason I was hanging on. The Post is more than just politics for me. I have been a subscriber for 38 years. I have lived in a house where the Post was delivered for over 60 years.
My context - Wether by darkness, daylight, sun up, sundown, in our face or dragged it into the bushes with a hand over the mouth - they’re helping to kill/stomp/choke the life out of our democracy and convert it into a madd dictatorship. I’d leave that paper behind me in the rubble too.
Mr. Robinson is better off. The WP has been going steadily downhill since BEZOS took over. Their International News section is okay. Their National News and Editorial pages are definitely not what they used to be. Don’t get me started on their Opinion page. The format is NOT user friendly.
I've been waiting to see what Mr. Robinson would do; of all of the "political analysts" I've been exposed to in the last decade, he's one I always turn the volume up for. 👍
Ummm 3 months late. Gee hope we'll still be able to follow the ancient bloviating relic on his Bend the Knee Joe and Blondie appearances. These members of the "church of the savvy" are part of the reason why we're here.

Brain drain at The Post.
Nice work, Bezos, you hairball.
The brain drain from the @washingtonpost.com is incredible. And well deserved.

Or he is gonna lose them all !
The steering has been FROM a centrist position TOWARDS a more right-wing extremist position.
Eugene Robinson is someone whose every opinion or article I read. And have for many years.
When he talks, I listen.
I am very grateful that ER intends to keep adding his insights into the national dialogue on vital issues.

There comes a point in life when you simply don't need this crap anymore.
I know he lost his wife recently. Hopefully he’s still surrounded by good friends and family.
I hope he joins his erstwhile WaPo colleagues on Substack.
I've admired Eugene for years on MSNBC.
Without him the WP is just a disgusting
public restroom now.
Your aprobation is most
appreciated my friend. 🥰
