THIS. Like ...I genuinely try not to gatekeep. I even consider mobile games real games. If you play Candy Crush I love that for u. But if ALL you play is FIFA and Madden and NBA games, ur just an ascended sports fan to me lmfao.
I had an uncle who worked for the company making the Magnvoxs. So he got to buy one really cheap. Which helped out my Mother when her son was begging for a game console :)
The bad thing isn't to like those games ,but to buy the same thing every year. Enjoying these games is good ,but spending 70 dollars a year for it is ridiculous when it is not needed
i'd play them a lot more if they weren't 70 fucking dollars, 2k should just do like nba live mobile and reset rosters in general before every season and go into live service
Sports people play sports games, not people who like video games. My point is that people who like video games generally don't play sports games because they are bad video games, but good sports simulators.
As someone who plays both your acceptable games and sports games. I play Madden and College football for the RP aspects of running an organization/ coaching a team. Heck you even level up your players and raise their attributes.
Right like I enjoy things I can’t do in real life. I can miss shooting a basketball. That’s easy. But I sure as shit can’t ride a turtle shell into other turtles for a multiplier score…not since they banned me from petsmart.
Sometimes I'm just in the mood for a game that has a lot of low-quality quantity. It's an itch that Skyrim scratches sometimes.
While I don't think the game aged well, I acknowledge that it's a great game which innovated on open-world design and paved the way for many arguably greater games.
Gamers: We want Freedom with structure; Creative problem solving with well-built sandbox mechanics, writing and storytelling that doesn't make you cringe, a world constructed with TLC instead of DLC in mind. Now make it affordable, GO!

or at least I refuse to believe there exists such a person with such a lack of personality.
As someone who likes Football Manager: wait a minute
