Both are all natural! Therefore must be good! The only things that have chemicals are only bad things made by man! People bad, nature good, where is my campfire spoon?!
If the anti vaccine people think that their bodies natural defense mechanism is enough to fight covid then raw milk with a little bird flu shouldn’t prevent them from drinking it.
That's where I used to drink milk fresh from the cow too! Was tradition to walk to the small scale farm for milk and eggs when on holiday there. I actually liked it. Maybe I was a cooked child. Key of course was that it wasn't stored like that for more than an hour or so.
This is what so many of the raw milk advocates forget, grew up on raw milk & goats milk, but we were in control of how clean we were, of keeping milking stations in a separate clean area, and sterilizing pails & bottles. it was used up daily unless we were making sour cream, cheese or yogurt.
There is some kind of foody demographic that claims it tastes better.
I'm whatever the opposite of a supertaster is: I have like 1 taste bud the size of a quarter. But IDK does it taste So Much Better it's worth dying of food poisoning, or giving us our next bird flu pandemic?
Honestly, at this point, if we had any guarantee that so many willing reservoirs wouldn't allow for a potential mutation to human-to-human transmission?
It amazes me that raw milk has become such a cultural issue in the US and exactly opposite from what I remember growing up in Europe. Then raw milk was more progressive, left wing, part of environmentalists and organic minded people's diet. Going to the local farmer with your milk can.
American livestock farms and food processing systems are incredibly disgusting. Even if raw milk is safe when it comes out of the cow, it isn't when they seal the carton.
Unfortunately the overlap between crunchy ecologically minded hippie and eugenics-obsessed anti government weirdo has grown exponentially in many parts of the world. It's freaky to watch.
As a crunchy, left wing, cooperativist my family owned a share in a cow from an Amish farm where we would go pick up raw milk. I get it doesn’t scale and it’s dangerous, but my wife and kids never got sick. We liked living dangerously.
You know, the risk:benefit of campfire eating isn’t for everyone, but if you’re living with a “simulated hunt” dietary restriction (see: Liver King disciples, etc) and have a poisoning incident there’s really no other alternative for getting something approximating activated charcoal in your system.
Ages ago, I saw someone try to blog through all the 'natural remedies' in a historical farmers' almanac. Post 1 was "I can't wait to learn how to live a more natural and healthy lifestyle!" Post 2 was "...why are there so many remedies for diarrhoea?" (aka, "summer sickness")
... Is some milk possibly more heavily pasteurized than it should be? Maybe, we've heard some stuff about that and not really heard compelling evidence either way. Is the solution drinking milk that can literally kill you if it's been out for a half hour? Why is that even a question?
I used to eat acid for that. Avoided campfires thankfully. Tiny bit of reward in good times and great people... never had that experience with milk though....
My dad and step mom went through this phase. I'm unsure if they're still in it. But me and my dad got really, really sick when I visited them during that time.
Sorry, he’ll never beat the guy in my dorm who took a mouthful of laundry detergent, spit it onto the wall of a black-lit dorm room, and scrawled “ghost cum” next to the splatter.
So’s dysentery. That should be quite common after fluoride gets taken out of the water. The public was sold on the fluoride prevents cavities thing because it was easier than telling people that they were drinking and cooking with sewage
I would chew coal as a way to scare Boy Scouts in the 90’s at Philmont. The morning after a campfire of course. Low impact/No trace camping got to get rid of the evidence. Had to brush my teeth!
that could count as a third attempt on the president's life, though.
or, at least, his groom of the stool's life, given what the president's diaper would look like after a glass of raw milk.
Now to see what is the most dangerous thing I can get someone to do by saying the phrase "kills the nutrients" or saying "that's what big pharma/agra wants you to do"

Eating a campfire is definite damage with no benefit, while drinking raw milk is only probable damage with no benefit.
A better analogy is Russian roulette, although I acknowledge it’s not as funny of an analogy as a campfire.
I'd say just let 'em knock themselves out.
toxins, and also fire
Raw milk consumption is not interesting enough to be a stunt and yet still dangerous.
Toleration of lactose is a mutation from about 10,000 years ago in N. Europe it has been slowly spreading across the globe.
As more of the US has come from elsewhere, the level of lactose intolerance has increased. Simple math.
Because only you can prevent forest fires!
Oh, when you heat it up to 160°+ for fifteen seconds or more?
Those that use the metric system and those about to legislate for raw milk in schools.
Well actually they blacked out drunk and fell into a campfire.
Wasn't impressive and their facial scarring probably wasn't worth it.
You may like the taste of it, but there are plenty of fish and beef options with vastly lower chances of poisoning you.
