I say that to the United Healthcare CEO... it's just a flesh wound... get over it... go to the hospital down the street that stopped accepting your insurance coverages.......
"if we're throwing in with Russia & North Korea, a pre-emptive economic strike makes sense. Now let's hope they come to bargain instead of seeing this as the act of war it is"
Dimon used to be a credible and respected business leader whose words carried a lot of weight. Wonder what is going on in the background that would cause him to take this position.
ahem, fiscal easing? You mean, not letting the tax cuts expire? That aint exactly easing. Its more like, not immediate strangulation for a dying patient.
The UK, which has been reduced to a permanent renter thanks to waves of privatisation, is blown mercilessly about by economic headwinds.
Ireland, the other nation of which I am a citizen, is also going to be badly impacted as we employ a lot of people in pharma and the US is a major market.
Kind of a roundabout way of telling us this administration is going to be stripping this economy for parts after they've stolen anything of real value.
And Jamie Dimon. In a 60 minutes interview said that there would be nothing to worry about with the Trump presidency. What an arrogant and out of touch asshole.
Erin answered, but I’m forgetting which one recorded it first (both did eventually).
A similar thing happened with the Eagles’ Take It Easy, which was co-written by Jackson Browne, who recorded his own version not long after the Eagles version, but no one remembers his recording.
The greater the market crash, the weaker Trump's negotiating hand becomes. Watch now as nations deliberately slow their engagement with him and his team. US economic hegemony is over now whatever happens.
Narrator - Back in 1968 we actually had a graduated income tax system that taxed the rich. The Revenue and Expenditure Control Act of 1968 created a temporary 10 percent income tax surcharge for both individuals and corporations through June 30, 1969, to help pay for the Vietnam War.
Looks like Trump is planning to hand our country to Putin. While the US is planning to lay off 90,000 soldiers, Putin just drafted 160,000 soldiers. DOGE work is preparation. "We will take America without firing a shot." (Krushev)
Trump aide says tariffs will raise $6 trillion, which would be largest tax hike in US history.
Most economists say US-imposed tariffs are paid by American businesses and consumers in the form of higher prices on imported goods, not paid by foreigners.
To me, that means possible long term or permanent reduction in the goods available in the U.S. if some countries stop supplying those goods to the U.S. For example, French perfume.
If it's not profitable any more for anyone to supply some kind of imported good to the US, it won't be supplied, and so won't be available to buy in the US.
And once the mechanisms of supply are gone, they don't magically reappear.
So things could just... not be supplied because... we stopped.
Just wait. In September, the current continuing resolution for the US budget ends. And they have to figure out something else. And there's a non-zero chance that the US will default on its debt. And then watch all the financial chaos happen.
Why would they do such a self destructive move?
Because

It’s like he’s trolling for his own.
Yeah, that.

What do you think?
But chaos is a ladder and they chose to climb it
These irrational tariffs/SALES TAX will impact ALL OF US: RICH & POOR here & globally.
Inflation & unemployment will increase. With NO PUBLIC SERVICES TO COUNT ON, these Ego imposed tariffs WILL HURT THE POOREST AMONG US.

He’s just glamorizing recklessness.

I'd love to see how much each of them lost in the tariff tsunami.
Unfortunately, they have plenty more whereas the folks with fixed incomes are fucked.
…oh. Ohhh no.
