Off to BAFTA in London for a lovely night of celebrating 15 years of BBC Horrible Histories, and we’re receiving a special BAFTA award - really looking forward to seeing old colleagues!

My daughters learnt more from Horrible Histories than their history classes at school. And, more importantly, they've retained that knowledge into their adult life. Enjoy your evening, well deserved!
Oh how my older girls loved going to see you at the Theatre, and my 19 year old Autistic daughter became obsessed with Henry VIII because of how wonderful your shows are. Truly deserved you are all brilliant!
So richly deserved! HH remains a firm family favourite - The Georges, WW2 pilots and The Vikings remain strongly debated as to which is the best song…and we can still sing them all (child now 17!!) Have a brilliant night x
Congratulations! Well deserved! I haven't watched for a good few years, since my kids grew up, but the three of us loved the show and still chorus "Hor-rible His-tor-ies" whenever it's mentioned, to the amazement and delight of my daughter's partner!
Somewhere all the other historians not wearing a velvet jacket with a dress shirt and brown dress shoes sense that they are inappropriately dressed and start sweating
My Irish daughter is learning all about reformation…now I am an ‘original’ Bohemian/Moravian Protestant following in Jan Hus’ footsteps…but I was genuinely cracking up when she played https://youtu.be/odZsn7Y-VRA?feature=shared
Congratulations Greg. I knew that show was special as it was a kids show I genuinely looked forward to. I would check when it was on and watch with my lad whenever I could. 😂😂
congratulations!! I just graduated with my master’s in history in large part because of horrible histories (and YDTM now too!) so thank you for genuinely changing lives with public history ⭐️
Many congrats, Greg!!! SO well-deserved. Horrible Histories has changed so many lives. Learning history through funny sketches and songs helped me settle into this country when I moved here to study and I’ve never looked back since. And I even met one of best friends through this little show!
A bit of history of the BAFTA, which was designed by Mitzi Cunliffe, born in U.S. but resident in Manchester for many years, she designed a relief on the side of Heaton Park pumping station, also many pieces of modular sculpture around UoM in 50s-60s.
Aw congrats! So pleased for you all. Used to watch CBBC on mat leave as there was no streaming back then and adult tv was dire. Horrible Histories and Leonardo were my faves. So nice to see members of those casts now reaching bigger audiences.
How great to have an opportunity to thank you and all the HH ensemble, especially the original 6 idiots, for the part you have played (& continue to play) in the lives of myself and my four children. We have watched every episode over & over again. Thanks for all the laughs, songs & learning! ❤️👍
Have a great night, though honestly I thought it had been going longer than that, and I mean that in all the best ways. The impact you all had on my daughter is unmeasurable
My 3 children choose history for A-level and still have a deep interest in the subject. Horrible Histories played a huge part in their education and love for the subject. Huge thank you for making it all fun and weird and memorable.
I had a really rough time a few years ago and one of the only shows I could watch was Horrible Histories. It was funny, irreverent and engaged my brain. I’m grateful to you all beyond words.
Excellent! We love that show, and can nearly remember the Kings and Queens. "William, William, Henry, Stephen, Henry, Richard, John, oy!" Shouldn't be catch, but it is. Genius! 😁
My 5yo is obsessed at the moment - currently a big fan of Charles II and very down on Cromwell as a result 😂. I certainly didn’t know the names of all 6 of Henry VIII’s wives at his age. Thank you for bringing so much joy and knowledge to so many

Saw so many wonderful colleagues from my 11 years on the show! What a joy to be in a room again with so many lovely people

Wifey has a problem with Stupid Deaths, though. Has to be skipped in our house. 🤷♂️😅
Still one of my favourites and an absolute classic. "Take that, Hitler!" still makes me spit my coffee out 😂
