Unsolicited writing advice, no. #16140:
Don't assume that your desk is where all your writing happens. 90% of the process of creation happens elsewhere. Use whatever time you have. Thinking time; dreaming time; observing time; analyzing time. All this time can be part of your work. Don't waste it.

I don’t even have a desk. 🤓
Here's some more -- I don't own a desk.
It's a motto of mine. Somebody used it some movie I think.

... Or when I'm supposed to focus on the day job. 😅
I kinda just sit down and write my books
There are no notes
Rn I'm working on 6 at a time, which sucks but I haven't come up with better ideas than being ridiculous in one, and it makes a chain reaction of shinnanigans
Or is that just me? 😭
I still aspire to a Shed, though. (Hi, Jo! :) )
I went through a stretch where 90% of my best stuff happened in a text thread with a friend, but if I switched to a laptop, it was gone
Also! Talking it out is like brainstorming with yourself!
it teaches two things:
1) most artists are a mess, but have a very structured habitual daily routine, and
2) LOTS of all-time great writers love taking long walks.
