I didn’t know adultery was so rampant in elementary schools. Looking forward to seeing the improvement in numbers after these get posted. Will it be fourth or fifth graders that get their adulterous ways stamped out first? Enquiring white nationalists who didn’t get past sixth grade want to know.
Didn’t the Supreme Court just rule that public funds can’t be used to finance religious school? It seems that literally anyone could challenge the Texas ‘forced religion’ doctrine in court and win based on that.
Ten Commandments is Old Law. Jewish Law. Sermon on the Mount is New Law. Christian Law. Apparently the so called Christian Nationalists want Texas public school students to be Jewish, not Christian.
If the 10 Commandments have to be posted in classrooms, then there should be something posted next to them explaining how Trump has broken just about every one of them.
Welp. Then it will be official.
Donald Trump can never attend school in Texas, because he’s broken ALL of those commandments.
And I’ll bet Greg Abbot and Ted Cruz have as well.
That is so offensive. The rules-based ethics represented by the 10 commandments are what Jesus sought to reform. Let he who is without sin cast the 1st stone and so forth. Only a fake Christian would ignore the Gospel and proudly sport those archaic tablets.
We got way more felons in #txlege than we even know about.
I figure the people higher on the food chain most likely break at least 5 out of 10 in a regular workweek.
Especially Abbott, Paxton, and Patrick.
Greg didn't get to turn our public education into a detention center for the destitute. I guess he's trying to piss everyone but the Klan off with this.🙄
As an atheist I’ve lived with religion bombarding me from every direction. I’ve swallowed hard, smiled and refrained from any rebuttal.
But times are changing for me.
Believe what you desire folks, but keep it to yourself and stop forcing me to live under your fucking voodoo Jesus bullshit.
37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. - Matt 22:37-39
If you need to see the Ten Commandments, go to church where there are Sunday School classes. The Ten Commandments do not belong in any public school. It's quite ridiculous. There is a place for that.
REPUGS HATE THIS..
The First Amendment, specifically the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause, forms the basis of the separation of church and state.
The Establishment Clause prevents the government from establishing an official religion or "favoring one religion over another".
MY SON WAS BORN IN TEXAS. WE MOVED BACK TO NEW ENGLAND WHERE WE ONLY WORRY ABOUT SNOW AND NOT WHICH CHURCH YOU GO TO. BESIDES MY PAGAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS MISSED ME.
These unholy WHITE men have no respect for anyone. They don’t even care about their own children and all we have to do is list their actions. They are not allowed nor entitled to use the name Jesus. They are HOLLOW. It’s time to put your phone down, disengage from SM platforms.
Christians. It's always Christians.. they think they're so aloof over other people due to the preachings of their religion. They shove their religion down everybody's throat even when other people believe in something else or nothing at all..
The sick part is they start before you even know what the world is... Say it's grooming and they really get upset. But it really is.. So glad I was able to raise myself from 12 years old on up.
This is so ridiculous. As a retired first grade teacher I would hate to have had to waste one minute of my day explaining the meaning of adultery. Parents can take their children to church for those lessons. Let teachers do their actual jobs!!
A is for Adultery

F is for False Witness
G is for Good Grief…
I don't want my taxes paying for that. The kids are there to learn life survival skills not learn about fairy tales of one religion. If you do one religion, you should have them all up there because they pay taxes too not just fanatic Christians.
Any politician that votes for, signs or submits more than three unconstitutional pieces of legislation in their career should be immediately removed from office and not allowed to run again.
Someone want to ask Texas Republicans how this improves the lives of Texas citizens?
Is it supposed to stop a gunman blowing the hell out of innocent kids trying to get an education?
I saw a post recently that said “if you want to use my tax dollars teach the Bible in school to ‘increase the morality of children’ you’re gonna need to first explain to me why it doesn’t seem to work in church.”
Whats this about? Teaching religion in school, having it as an optional class, or just putting up what is essentially a sign with christian values in a majority christian nation? Idk how this would be any worse than putting pornography in the library. Get over yourselves
I have never understood why posting a list of rules on how not to be a bad person is going to make kids be better people. Why do they need a list of rules posted in the classroom?
Wow. Another Republican Politician who hasn't read the Constitution of the United States. How can these people get elected to office without reading the document that is the basis for our Nation?👽
Texas GOP doing everything it can to make us the Iran of the USA: a theocratic petrol state based in misogyny and repression of science and free speech, thus driving out doctors, researchers, and teachers and making us collectively stupider and less competitive. Their souls are too small for Texas.
If forced to do this as a teacher, I would post the tenets of every other religion I could think of on matching posters. Maybe even in a bigger font just for fun!
They don't need an excuse. Their imaginary friend is actually a genocidal pedo rapist, and is the first not to follow what is preached. Hypocrisy is the defining feature of that lot. 🍵
It’s an on going destruction of Democracy and America when one entity with all the power will simply ignore the constitution. I would not count on SCOTUS. They are complicit in what the far right agenda is. Just follow the fake Christian nationalist dots. They lead to the WHITE HOUSE. RESIST Now!
Will they put a checkmark next to all the ones Trump has violated?
They could only put one checkmark per item instead of per violation because there is not enough room, and it would have to be updated on an hourly basis ("Though shall not lie").
Whenever I hear of someone insisting on posting the Ten Commandments the first thing that comes to mind is that they watched a movie about Moses when they were a kid (and didn’t understand it). Jesus said to love your neighbour but they don’t seem to want that posted.
Texas is the breeding ground for Project 2025!! Abbott, Paxton & the Texas GOP are criminals and are disgraceful! Tax the churches, tax wealthy corporations and make billionaires pay their share!
I think any politician who proposes, votes for, or signs into law a blatantly unconstitutional law, like this one, should automatically be removed from office and forbidden from ever running again. The courts have already ruled repeatedly that this violates the 1st amendment.
More snake oil salesmen trying to consolidate power and actually “indoctrinate” the masses. No issues with people practicing their religion in their private lives. The ones who try to push it on others can take their religious texts crumple it up real nice & shove it up their asses.
this is unconstitutional and as a tick on the budget of the federal government, texas can go fuck themselves. i dont want to pay for public school to teach your crotch goblins the fairy tales you dont have the time to teach them. but if you insist, then i insist my religion be included.
I find it interesting that they are so enthralled about displaying the Ten Commandments in the name of Christianity, but very few of the representatives voting for this live by what the Commandments teach. They are fake Christians, and we know what the Bible says about that.
interesting, as GOP governments tend to act against all of the 10. So they display what they disrespect and breach. It's now 100% Taliban who act accordingly.
Adultery is something adults do. Don't worry about it for now.
The second one is a misprint. It's supposed to say "neighbor's life". Don't be envious if your neighbor has nicer things and a better job than you do.
I would totally end up in jail if I were a teacher in Texas.😁
Your first question - fair criticism, though the article makes it pretty clear where they stand without a satisfying meme at the top (maybe to attract the other side to read it?)
Your second line - absolute trash. Why would you attack Houston Public Media with such exaggerated inaccurate BS?
Public education should be just that. Government does not have the right to choose the religion then mandate and finance it. Whatever this biased bill costs put time and money toward gun safety. I know it’s Texas and Texas likes guns better than kids. Kill this bill not more kids.

because Jesus himself retconned those 10. pretty famously even.
pretty crazy to think Texas "Christians" might not know what the fuck they are talking about. j/k 😂😂😂

Aside, Christian fanatic and TX donor Steven Hotze implored Abbott to deploy National Guard with orders to shoot to kill BLM protestors.
By their deeds, not their words, eh.
This has been carefully orchestrated by Christian nationalists.
If you:
Open it, close it.
Spill it, clean it up.
Use it all, replace it.
Get it out, put it back.
Hear it cry, hug it.
You get the idea.

This is Congress passing a law that establishes a religion.

Oh ya, that doesn't matter in most of Texas Churches
The First Amendment, specifically the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause, forms the basis of the separation of church and state.
The Establishment Clause prevents the government from establishing an official religion or "favoring one religion over another".
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
I look forward to the many lawsuits!
There, I fixed your headline for you.

the Republicans have broken today? Trump breaks them every day. Hypocrites.
You cannot fix stupidity and ignorance. Vote them out of office.

Oh I forgot - MAGA gets to frame all articles NPR puts out, otherwise it's liberal bias.

2. Don’t fudge dice rolls
3. Be gay
What should 4. - 10. be? I’m thinking the laws of robotics?
The only part they ever cared about protecting was the 2A.
