I can tell you, calling Trump a fascist in 2015 was universally mocked when the few of us saying it, and backing up the claim with the clear evidence he worships Hitler, Bannon was a capable insurgent leader leveraging Nazi strategies, and white nationalism was getting a pass, despite the threat.

Elected Democrats need to drive the news (or at least attempt to) the way that Trump is right now. Is that easy? No. Could they, ostensible professional politicians, do way way better? Yes. It’s part of their job to do politics via media! They’re doing badly at the moment. We should demand better.

Noble. I agree with the noble sentiment. But I also have to know and acknowledge that the media’s default is to disbelieve & question Ds while amplifying Rs. The only exception is D on D crime…like the coordinated push to get Biden to drop out. Then the media will amplify away…

I agree! It’s not fair! But that’s the terrain on which we’re operating. Figure out some better strategies or fold. Saying “hey no fair!” has already been tried, in various forms, and of course has done nothing. Offering reasons why Dems can’t fight back more effectively is, to me, unhelpful.

So holding Dems to some amorphous “do better” undefined strategy - won’t work either. That’s all I’m saying & it’s fertile terrain for further despair & anger amongst liberals.
