This is how many hours per week a person needs to work in order to escape poverty.
The US is dead last.

We should have an hourly wage that can at least exceed the poverty level on a 40-hour work week.
Poverty is created by racist systems....
Is not about only working hard.
Rich people don't eirk hard they inherited wealth
What's this supposed to be based on, the legal minimum wage?
In the US almost noone makes the legal minimum wage, the vast majority makes way more.
It ain't Germany, or UK or Ireland or Canada. Why do the best want to come to America?
Problem of illegal immigration is worse in Germany than in America.

Two years ago I applied around where I live; 19 applications out and these were total shit jobs; and I only heard back from one who told me that they could not guarantee me any hours and it was full time 40 hrs when I applied to it.

And maybe alt text?
Both husband & I were college -educated and always paid our taxes, always voted…The rules of the game changed and the “good life” we’d been promised was no longer available.
The #billionaires need us, we do not need them!
Stop buying from corporations in general. #massboycott the megacorps
#coders make #DAOs &open source apps, replace YouTube, TT, IG,etc
#Buylocal &2nd hand.
Grow a garden!
More guns than any other nation.
More prisons than any other nation.
More expensive and less effective health care.
Larger wage gap, leading to the main point in this post.
It's not for shits and giggles it's the only country with a term of dying due to overwork. "Karoshi"
We know the situation in the US is bad, no need to manipulate the displayed information in a way people leave uninformed.
If you divide into 1st, 2nd and 3rd it's even better to nail the point more accuretly while also informing people more about the rate.
Saying a Far Worst among first world countries is still terrible.
It isn't about the US looking good. It doesn't. It's about how the way the info is presented feels/is manipulative.
Hearing "Dead Last" and not even seeing my own country just so that the US is written of as "Dead Last among countries", not "Dead Last among 1st world countries", just so it can sound even worse feels like manipulating the narrative.
This is interesting info to know, specially since the situation is posing itself to get even worse.
Plus some other figures seem off, even when assuming it’s a calm geopolitical situation (non-trump era), and the economy’s okay 🫤
Next they'll assume vacation time.
Please, don't spread misinformation!

Unfortunately, lots of patients don’t have an option to wait possibly a number of years for an operation, so reluctantly go private (where many either use their savings or end up borrowing and taking on debt).
Could also say something like most generous support... Which err... makes it feel even worse 🙃

I went back to school at 32 to get a degree.
Still worked 2 jobs until I remarried.
The struggle is real.
Yes our fed minimum wage is $7.25 but there aren't really any (non tip) jobs paying less than 15ish per hour in the year 2025.
Are they sucking life out of the actual builders of wealth?
I look at the GDP numbers for all the states and they are all or mostly all, higher than Canada.
Is the US a rich country or is it a country with a thin layer of ultra rich that has been looting the wealth of its shrinking middle class.
Whose GDP is it?
1/2
UK 23 hours a week at minimum wage would get you under £15k per annum (assuming you worked those 23 hours every single week). Benefits top ups aren't going to lift you out of poverty.
~An actual turkish person
Any changes would disrupt the status quo
Together we can do this
Fucking disgraceful
This quite sad to see the U.S. dead last.
If yes, no way Türkiye would be the second.
As of 2022, the poverty line is calculated as 50% of the median disposable income in the country
1. Blks=Sharecropper
2. Legal immigrant browns=cheap labor
3. Poor Whites=Fodder (storm troopers)
4. Homeless=just don’t die in the streets, makes them for a nanosecond feel guilty as their drive around in their white Cadillac suv.
And you have to pay back a percentage of each £ you earn if you're working and claiming, so it's not likely you'll make much of a 'profit' from working.
While Japan is very likely the lowest, with as little of 2 hours per week required..
But America is for sure, dead last.
