The privacy litigation at the state and federal level would make the tobacco litigation look like a garden party. And hopefully cost multiple billions of dollars more in judgments against those who have violated our privacy.
I think that is what Rep Raskin was after when he told us all to FOIA our data from the govt to see who’s looked at it. If it’s Doge then we’d have class action status. That’s what’s needed.

I have been thinking for a while there needs to be a very detailed archive, both from public sources and info yielded by subsequent litigation for the purposes of pursuing accountability over years and decades.
The president constitutionally has plenary power to pardon anybody, which is to say, there is no power to check the pardon power. (But see, recent opinion Judge Oldham in the 5th Circ.)
Why is DOGE deep diving into payroll and personal data? Thats not where you find fraud and abuse. You find fraud and abuse in accounting, auditing, contracts, payments, etc.
As you probably know, the statute of limitations is generally five years under 18 U.S.C. § 3282. The Continuing Offense Doctrine and fraudulent concealment of the privacy act violation are statutory exceptions. 18 U.S.C. § 3287 tolls during wartime.
