Great idea!!!! Better than my idea of going to dollar store and buying hundreds of dollar dishes and glasses to throw everyday for the next year in anger
I did, too, today - 3 kits actually. Iβm not much of an embroiderer but I wanted something easily portable to bring to work for the monthly crafters lunch.
I have taken up cross-stitch again after many years and after learning this week thar my office is closing, the stabbing is proving somewhat therapeutic π€£
I've been wanting to do the same! But I cannot decide on which starter kit to get haha. I will check the local thrift store first but online there are some very nice-looking kits that come with books or even videos. Which kind did you get?
Thank you. It's not a kit. I was a black and white stamped (printed) fabric tablecloth, like a toile, that I purchased a couple of years ago from H&M. I'm using embroidery floss to embroider it in the colors of my choosing. I often embroider on toiles.
I was thinking darts myself. Photos can be easily reproduced on a home computer with a printer. Even black & white. Doesn't matter when it's going to be full of holes & target ratings. Lots of family fun & oodles of hand eye skill development coordination. Win, win, win. Who could lose?

I'm looking for ways to deal as well.
One day I hope to embroider my own tote bag, jeans and aprons. That way I can thrift sturdy fabrics but tailor and decorate them the way I like
Enjoy!
