They genuinely believe that humans are obsolete and AI should replace us. That there is no point in being human and destroying everything in nature is the way. So why don’t they take the first step and end it all?

As for the thinking outsourcing - it’s just evolution. Laziness and energy saving is selected for most of the times naturally. So here we are, trying to be really smart one time so we can be dumb most times.
Not everyone strives to be bodybuilder.
Same with thinking - it’s energy intensive process. So if most people can delegate it to external actor, they will. And use the saved time and effort for something that will give them dopamine
