Hello, and welcome to day one of the US Open. Unfortunately two of the greatest servers in tennis, who both developed the strategy of only hitting unreturnable serves, are unable to participate in the tournament because they are still playing out the first set tiebreaker of the Australian Open final
If I was a professional writer my strategy would be to write a 50million best seller every month and spend the summer in centre court drinking pimms, eating strawberries and watching the tennis.
If I were an MLB pitcher, my strategy would be to throw a ball in the strike zone too fast for the batter to hit every time. I don't understand why this is so difficult for "professional" athletes
You will become a time traveller. Hitting a perfect unreturnable serve is similar to what I remember from the old superman comics, an irresistible force cannot coexist with an immovable object within the same time frame. God I loved those old comics, they taught a lot about space time logic.
if i were to play basketball i'd learn how to atillery shoot the ball from the halfway line. i would just keep standing in the middle of the room while my minions are getting me my ball. they'd call me big mama
awwww man see i don't go in for digs like that. i do think he completely missed his shot to be tony shalhoub's stunt-double after he retired from professional tennis though.
I recall being on a sports team where our objective was to score more points than the other team. We alternated blaming our offense and defense when we lost.
This is a winning strategy for sure, but that would be a boring game and nobody would watch. This is why champions sometimes hit a returnable serve every third time. It's simple math.
I haven’t played in decades but my first racquet was a Wilson too. Wood frame, thick as heck strings and weighed a ton. It helped me excel at racquetball in later years.
a Slazenger Woody was my 1st racket,..the Wilson 2000 was like an aluminum fly swatter compared to a Prince Classic, my next one..but, I'd bash a few w/a Williams Girl,..for 3 seconds. 4, tops.
I played every single day, rain or shine, snow or heat, for 2 years, but that buddy died a decade ago.

tennis would be so much better with combat mechanics. maybe a metal ball and a rubber court?
If you are a GERMAN TENNIS ROBOT

The serves were amazing, but the matches were very dull.
Watch their game improve 😳🎾
But I'm not professional - I think it would be unfairm
1. Win
2. ???
3. Profit
I miss premium Tennis.
