At what point does Global Affairs Canada issue a travel warning to Canadians heading to the US?
Because I think we're thoroughly at the point at which this is necessary.

I have to assume they are working on it.
I urge Canadians to avoid travel. Illegal detentions and kidnapping by ICE have become all too common for travellers and those with working VISAs.
Stay away at this time.

Haven’t crossed the border since.
And never will, ever again.
A warning would help people get refunds on existing trips.
If you don't have insurance and want to cancel at the last minute, you're outta luck. I think that's why we hear of so many taking the risk at the moment.
Later, travellers without ins will cancel early enough to get refunds.
I always try and get that, because business things happen or kids get sick or whatever, and I don’t want to fight. It costs a bit more, but what if? Eeep
Also, cancelling for work reasons is covered 100% for lots of these types

I can't just refuse to travel for work because I have a bad feeling.
That could set him off like a rocket!! Just my thoughts 🤦♀️
Do you really need Melanie Joly to tell you not to travel!!
We all know what’s going on 🤷♀️
Can't see a change in our advice being well received by the think skinned regime...
Trump is emboldening (and even empowering) the worst elements in every government institution. Including border services.
I wouldn’t risk that lottery.
For you youngsters, a driver's license without even a photo used to be sufficient.
Canada will also have to reevaluate the Safe Third Country policy for refugee claimants because the US is not a safe country for refugees. For that matter, there will likely be US citizens seeking refuge in Canada soon & we should be prepared to evaluate those cases fairly.

Also, personally, if I were issuing travel advice to people whose passport gender is X or who changed the gender on their passport it wouldn't be, "check with US authorities before proceeding" it would be, "avoid non-essential travel to the US".
CANADA should issue a formal travel warning though, regardless.
One thing is for sure: I would not try to enter at a land crossing now. At a preclearance airport checkpoint you are still on Canadian soil, and can walk away if denied entry.
Best of luck to you and stay safe!
