my friend Jo works in LGBTQ health. she told me that queer kids in New York have parties in the back of Indian grocery stores that they rent out, which will likely be in some documentary 20 years from now. the city changes, yeah, but mostly you are just getting older.

Sure, yeah, “legal” public art like that can be a tad bit goofy but everything else seems inoffensive and fine.

If he'd shown the outside of chain stores in the Village and SF then yeah that's a thing, there did used to be more independently owned shops for sure. also empty storefronts for years bc cheaper (tax breaks?) for landlords than lowering rent
