I moved onto making an elaborate first person adventure where the transition between worlds is signified by a shift from ASCII to wolfenstein 3d graphics instead. Finishing the last 100% of the sucked too. So I gave up!
It's a game/story idea I've had for years, that's probably impossible for one human.
I never really started beyond looking through the libtcod documentation on getting to the raw SDL commands that would enable it, to see if it was even possible.
Most games i quit, cause at start it is all great, but then repetition sets in. And the rest of the game (90%) is stuff you already saw or did in the beginning.
The endless games that r only in visual different, but the engine behind it totally the same! from building a house in survival, to FPS!
Assassin's Creed origins and Odyssey and Valhalla, Half-life (all), Red Dead redemption 2, fall out 3 and 4. Elden Ring has me wondering if I can beat it! Close!
I have a love hate relationship with the way a lot of games are seemingly never ending. I love it because if I love the game, I never want to leave its world. But then at times I hate it because I find myself struggling to finish main storylines. Especially if there's a photo mode 🤓
I have no issue finishing games, just the way I'm built BUT I do these things with my VC group called fests where we pick a series and play / stream beating them together, definitely got me through some horrible, horrible games. 😅
Don't do it. The feeling is similar to post nut clarity. Suddenly you wonder what else you could've spent those 200 hours on and then you think how you're going to fill the void the game being completed has left you with.
1) buying them
2) downloading them
3) starting them
4) coming back the next day spending an hour choosing what to play
5) wasting my life away on an FPS
6) repeating steps 1 - 6
I finished ultrakill but half of the time i was raging due to the fact that i was trying the get the perfect rank for all the levels (not including secret levels)
I just finished Detroit: Become Human, and I've been upset and complaining about the insanity of that setting longer than I actually enjoyed playing that game XD
Finished The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Assassin's Creed Odyssey+DLC, Horizon: Zero Dawn in the past 8 months. Still working on Assassin's Creed Origins, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom because I'm too lazy to finish Ganon. 😑 #Gaming4Life
I don't want to talk about finishing The Last of Us, or Red Dead. Yes, sequels have come out, but some heartbreak you just don't forget. Also, John Marston's son was annoying as hell and an absolute dumbass.

Pray for my sanity.
Everyone eventually just gives up
Believe, it can be done.
Or even finish playing the main story.
You’re supposed to get 65% of the way there and then get distracted by the next shiny thing

I just included it "for the bit" :)

Batman arkham city
ULTRAKILL
Terraria
Battleblock Theatre
Slime Rancher
Castle Crashers
The list just keeps going, i really cant ever beat a game
There was a study that said most people don't even get halfway in games. Perhaps why so many games have a strong opening
It's fucked up.
