This is how Adult Disability Payment works in Scotland, and afaik it has caused no one to die by suicide, unlike the 1000s killed by DWP.
Mums naturally sing their childβs praises and focus on the positive, so to me this felt like a great betrayal.π’
For her, it was demoralising, upsetting but necessary. Itβs not a process anyone would choose.
Sounds similar to the American disability system.

The overhaul of Pip is intended to be a lengthy cruel shaming process which attacks your very identity to stop you from applying.
Your parliament is legislating eugenic torture. The US has this too with Medicaid, Social Security, & veterans disability benefits.
Filling out these forms took several hours over several days. Listing all his difficulties and the things he canβt do, in minute detail, left me in utter despair.
Itβs a soul destroying process.
But the advice given is to think of your child on their worst day.
Their purpose imo was to prove you were lying..
I tried to get PIP over a decade ago, the event was humiliating and I was refused.
I will never apply again... so they won by a process of dehumanisation

But for chancers - and they do exist - it's the opposite: an exercise in imagination, nothing to lose, with the added excitement they might pull it off.
I was disabled enough as a child to get PIP, exam adjustments, disabled student allowance, but today Iβm not considered disabled enough and thus I lose my disabled railcard access
