Throwing tomato soup on a painting seems like an under-reaction, to be honest

It's really to early to tell about deaths.
People are more shocked by someone throwing soup on protective glass than they are by the industrialized rape of our planet.
Almost 50% of US voters selected a fucking moron for president.
Van Gogh was a mentally ill man who devoted his life to capturing the beauty of landscapes and was poor his entire life.
Why not go after Warhol who glorified mass produced bullshit and made himself famous on other pols labor
in minecraft 😇
Throwing tomato sauce on a painting is fine.
Is not that deep of a metaphor
Now throwing a can of soup at oil company CEO or a milkshake would accomplish same without side effects.
They are holding up a mirror to society. What each person sees in this act tells us all we need to know about them.
Compare that symbolism with the permanent damage done daily to nature, environment, climate - & ancient artefacts routinely destroyed by mining companies.
However, if I were a young person I would be disgusted with my current generation for putting convenience & possessions above the environment & the wellbeing, maybe even existence, of future generations.
I might fling soup too, in desperation to be seen & heard.
The issue is that these acts are appreciated by people already passionate about the topic. Form of preaching to the choir.
Most others have strong opposition and easily bag even pragmatic solution seeking with these melodramatic attention seekers.
Radical acts get news coverage for the radical thing that was done.
But why the act was done is very often ignored.
But do you remember why?
That is the tragedy of using radical acts to draw attention.
I support the cause but not the methods.
There was never any intent to destroy, nor was destruction possible. It was simply for awareness.
Sorry, no.
I do not approve.
Everybody's clutching their pearls about an imagined damage to a piece of nicely coloured canvas, but almost nobody is outraged enough about the very real destruction of literally the whole world. To lay bare that contradiction is in itself a piece of (performance) art.

I'm a firefighter, that looks like fucking hell even to me.
No clue where tomato soup comes into it.
The zeitgeist can have it
My brain is now too dumb to remember something important..
Like probing a roof's remaining strength when cutting a vent ..
Or sitting up a patient when they're drowning in their own blood
Cayenne sauce is not eye drops
Or you gotta lift the toilet lid before taking a piss
